On of my colleges wants a letter from the IRS of non filing and the amount in household. I sent a request in to the IRS but still have not recieved one. The deadline for there financial aid was January 15. Could this impact me? Should I wait for the IRS letter to send in my household form or just send that one in now? I have emailed and called the school and they have not gotten back yet.
It won’t hurt to send it now and then again when you receive your IRS non-filer’s statement. If they won’t accept it without the IRS form, they’ll just shred it. Make sure you keep a copy to send in with the IRS form.
