Financial Aid

One of my schools asked me to send 4506-T Form to the IRS as proof that I don’t file taxes. Their deadline for financial aid was January 15 and its Feb12 and I still have not heard anything back from the IRS ( I was suppose to receive a letter)! What does this mean for my financial aid.

When did you mail the form?

Can you go to an IRS office and pick this form up?

no you cant it has to mailed

my teacher
mailed it to their office

No, the question was whether YOU can go to a nearby IRS office. It is possible to go to one if you live in a city that has one and they will process the form for you. Even if your teacher mailed it, you could go to an IRS office.

However, is it YOU (the student) who needs to provide the information or your parent? The person whose account it being verified is the one who needs to go to the IRS office (with ID).

@AnxiousScholar

What did your teacher mail? Are you saying your teacher mailed the request for the non-filers statement to the IRS?

What WE are saying is…YOU can go to an IRS office and get this form. Then you can send it to the schools (don’t forget to make a copy for,your records).

It does not have to be mailed. You can have your GC call the financial aid officer who is handling your file. They will most likely let the GC scan and email it to the financial aid office.

As others have mentioned, your parent (the taxpayer) can probably pick this up at the IRS office. Call to find out the process
