Ambitious Schedule for Younger Brother?

So I sat down with my little bro & made his high school schedule based on what he thought of the class descriptions & what he wanted to take. I'm just wondering if it's too ambitious. All feedback is helpful, thanks!

So, is this too ambitious, or do you think he can pull this off? He's a bright student i know, but I just wanted CC's opinion. & please no people who say "that's so easy"; maybe for you, but not for everyone. Thanks!

That’s 11 AP classes…how can that be “easy?”

That’s probably fine, but we don’t know your brother, so it will be hard to tell.

Is it a school requirement that USH be split over two years?

We have some very bright folk here on CC -_-

Yeah I understand this, just wanted CC’s opinion. Thanks!

Yes, unfortunately. I despise history (unlike my brother) & would’ve rather liked to be done with it after one semester of APUSH.

Does anyone remember that ■■■■■ that posted about having his younger brother take every single AP test? He was the guy with the apt diction…

Why make him do math a year early? It’s not a good idea to skimp on something as important as geometry.

LOL I DO.

Is geometry that important? I personally wish I had done this instead of wasting a semester on geometry

EDIT: also, he’s not “skipping” geometry, the course is offered by our highschool over the summer

This just sounds like a terrible 4 years of high school. I say see how freshman year goes and go from there. It’s not all about academics; you need to have a social life too

^^ Geometry teaches the fundamental way to think about math (with logical reasoning and proofs). It is absolutely imperative and it is a shame that people are putting more emphasis on getting ready for Calculus, which is a teensy subset of all the math that is out there, instead of making sure people know how to think and do math properly. A summer is not really going to do the trick. I only got the hang of Geometry at the end of year of struggling in an honors course with a difficult teacher.

If he has the right attitude and focus he will do fine…but if he dumps… his gpa will take a beating.
Make sure he’s just not taking a tough schedule to make your family happy.
He needs to protect his gpa.

I’ve had essentially the same schedule as he will, albeit only 1 AP in sophomore year, then 6 junior, 6 senior. I’ve also scored an 800 on Math II & 760 Physics. This is because I have spent extra time studying & gave up a little of my social life. I still get out every weekend for clubs & after school events, & see a movie a month with my friends. I don’t see why it’s not possible to have a decent social life. My brother is 10x smarter than I am, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he has tons of fun in high school. Either way, I think teh hard work I put in & “sacrifices” I make, make the having fun part that much more fun.

Math is my family’s thing. I have never studied for anything math related & usually have a near 100 average. After all, the test could be as hard as possible, but if nothing is wrong, the teacher can’t really deflate your grade. My school isn’t easy either, before you get that idea (at least math. english is a joke -__-). Our calculus BC class of 30 students had 28 5s & 2 4s. I think that is crazy good for a semi-competitive public.

Oh wow, long tangent there. Anyways, he doesn’t want to go that deep into math, which is why he’s taking it in highschool (so he doesn’t need to in college), so I don’t see why geometry is that important. I personally found it fairly easy.

Yeah I think he will do fine. Haha my brother has more leniency than me, this is all of his choosing.
