Can someone link to me where on aops community someone referred to the cutoff scores?
I’m somewhat disinclined to believe those cutoffs since I’ve heard that 110 would be the lowest ever (or one of) cutoffs for the 10A, not that I took it but people didn’t seem to think it was out of this world difficult.
I really hope that was a rumor, but son’s friend also emailed MAA to confirm the cutoffs and the response was TRUE. This made him so mad since he got 109.5 in 10A. If MAA already determined the cutoffs, why are they holding them another week and only tell whoever email them? 120 and 100 are the hard lines. If the cutoffs are below them, they have always been the multiple of 1.5 , may be this year is a change. It is said international students get their scores rounded up which I don’t understand. May be another rumor.
It must be 109.5 or 111 if is somewhere there. And Internationals don’t get the scores rounded. I know from personal experience
Sorry to come off as skeptical, but are you sure your sons friend’s information is reliable? I find it odd that MAA would release cutoffs to individual emails, esp if the cutoffs are only the “in the ballpark” numbers.
I was skeptical too until my son showed me the screenshot of the email his friend got. I never thought MAA would email random individuals.
And the email said that the cutoff was 110 for the 10A?
I also heard that it was 92 for the 12A and 110 for the 10A
The e-mail only said it was true. That was it. The guy who emailed MAA wrote in the email that the cutoffs for 10A and 12A being 110 and 92 were floating around and asked if they could verify that. So this year they did change to a score that is not a multiple of 1.5?
I suppose so. Does anyone remember when the teachers got back the official scores last year? Would it be this week?

I just called MAA and was told the same cutoffs even though they still have not released them. Oh well, better luck next time.
Dang it still didn’t make it. Whatever, good thing I made it last year.
Anyone’s teachers get the scores?
They are starting to update the website.
Don’t know if qualifiers will be posted after tonight’s update. We shall see.
How do you know you didn’t make it @Pinguman123 ? Just by the aops solution comparison or do you know officially?
I screwed up big time. I answered exactly 14 questions and made a stupid mistake on #12, because apparently I can’t add 4 numbers to 18. I’m hoping the cutoff will be 94 but honestly the B was easier than any AMC I’ve taken in the past couple of years, so it’s probably in the ballpark of 100. Anyone have thoughts on the AMC 12B cutoff?
For the 10/12A, the AIME cutoffs are posted here: http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/wiki/index.php?title=AMC_historical_results#AMC_10A
I also failed the B, but I thought it was the hardest AMC out of all of the past ones, so I’m just weird lol. I did much better on the A. However, I’m in the minority. Based on what most people are feeling though, I would expect the B to have a 100 cutoff.
I thought I did well on the B exam, but I messed up on at least 2 questions.
@cheescake I compared with the AOPS solutions.
