America to France: Aid Appreciated

I plan on studying abroad in France for several years, and am in the process of obtaining my student visa. However, I'm unsure if I'd be able to pay for everything (the visa, living, tuition, etc. etc.). I am wondering if there is any form of financial aid that I could apply for to help me.
My french friends attended private schools so they are unaware how the system truly works.
Any advice helps!

Well, I’m not really sure but I think the scholarships and grants all come from the CROUS so you should google that (website will be in French, please PM me if you don’t understant something). You should also definitely phone the Fulbright Commission in Paris and visit the French Embassy in the US website because if I remember, they give some info about that.

Honestly, studying in French Uni is not expensive for French, most of us live at home/in cheap "cit

Thank you very much! It’s greatly appreciated. I’m going to have to check this out later today, I have final exams soon.
