Hoping that being in Northern Virginia right outside of DC means I’ll get my letter by Monday or Tuesday. Honestly so sick of waiting at this point.
I got into the Honors Program. Has anyone else heard back from the honors program? Also, for the PPL and GS people, were you given scholarship/aid amount in your email, because mine said they’d be sending out packets with everything this Friday
Did you guys get snail mail or email notifications?
@templarassasin My PPL email indicated that aid would be in the packet.
@Cameron121 Email, with more information being mailed out on Friday.
The people commenting acceptances are probably international students. They get their acceptance in email because regular mail for them would take too long to come. No one in the US has gotten theirs yet so stay calm
@Dahsksuebxmap Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe all of the people who have been commenting acceptances are accepted applicants of a special program. I was accepted yesterday as part of the Honors Program. In my acceptance email it said that we receive our decisions earlier than other RD students. I live in the pacific north west if that makes a difference.
@Dahsksuebxmap I’m an Ohio based applicant, not international. Students that got accepted yesterday were in GS, PPL, or Honors. RD will still be coming.
All PPL, Honors, and GS acceptances were yesterday?

Accepted into Honors! Sooo excited for my D. She has been so excited about American! It came in an email yesterday evening. On gmail it came to ‘promotions’ instead of ‘primary’ mail, and the sender was Mr. Manson, the director, not the usual AU email address, so be sure to check all of your email files, junk mail, etc if you are waiting for news from a program.
The email said that the honors notifications with financial aid info would be mailed out on the 13th, before the other RD notifications.
I applied for FDDS and Honors and I made it in to the Honors! However I didn’t even hear about PPL or GS. I know it’s of course too late to apply for those but could someone just give me a break down of what they are? I’m just curious about the other programs!
I live in the Midwest, hoping I’ll be getting my decision early in the week!
I’m an American living overseas and was accepted into SIS for International Studies. Unfortunately, AU offered me the worse financial aid of any of my colleges, mostly loans. While I really love AU’s program, I cannot justify all the loans when Michigan and Barnard have given me aid packages that are all grants and no loans. So I won’t be attending. Did this happen to anyone else? I know Michigan and Barnard are rich, but even Georgetown gave me much better financial aid.
@excanuck99 you may have been denied more grant aid b/c if you got into Michigan, Barnard and Georgetown they might have thought you were using AU as a safety. If you had the chops to get into those schools, you would be way above AU’s stats.
@excanuck99 I’m in the exact same position as you - American overseas and same program! How do you know about Georgetown’s financial aid given that they haven’t released info yet? Did you apply ED?
Personally AU gave me a reasonable amount of aid, though the cost is still v. high. I did expect that however, given AU’s financial situation in comparison with other schools.
I was accepted RD on March 4th for History of Art
