@nmackpaddywhack was your envelope big or small?
@musicgirlx17 if it was anything like the ED acceptance it will be a large envelope for acceptance
Nothing in Northern New Jersey
I am questioning the legitimacy of the commenter who said they received their letter today. I live in North Carolina too and received nothing, its unlikely anyone would get the letter the day after mailing, and other commenters from DC and stuff would be contributing to the convo. Please do not post false decisions.
Well they said they would be mailing decisions out randomly, so @Dahsksuebxmap, you’re might have not been mailed out yet. But receiving it the day after seems like that would be way too fast.
Accepted from Maryland!!!
@reddparasitee accepted RD? wow that’s quick!
When ED packets went out there were also unusual delivery variations.
I worked in a college admissions office (smaller) several years ago and I can verify what AU says - it takes several days to mail out all the packets, so try to quell your anxiety as best you can. The postal service likes bulk mailings to be batched by regions of zipcodes and I know that some colleges further segment their mailings by schools or departments. Then, there’s a question of whether there’s a hiccup in the mail room handling… I tell you this to temper your expectations, NOT add to your anxiety. I wish you all the best news!
I’m waiting all the way in california (bay area) – i don’t expect to hear for a few days, but I’m still a little antsy
nothing in south Jersey either
Nothing in Connecticut
I got into PPL last week and got my admissions packet last night.
I was hoping that, because I got into PPL, that’d mean that the school would want me there and so on–however, the FA package they send me had us kicking in over four times our EFC.
I don’t think so.
I always thought AU was good with their financial aid ?
^ lol
Still haven’t gotten a decision in Northern VA, about 20 minutes from DC…
really ? I know a few people from our area that got great merit, but were not the tops in their classes…maybe it has changed
yep! i’m about 20 min from AU
I got accepted March 3rd but still haven’t received an admissions packet. Is this weird?
mine didn’t come in the mail yet, but there is another way to check your admittance online. people have used it in the past, and I think it’s always been accurate?
if you can create an account / student portal at myau.american.edu - you’re in!
your financial aid & scholarships are listed under finances > financial aid: award letter
I was accepted w/ the Presidential Scholarship of $20k/year! So excited. I may be attending in the fall…!
