They have already determined your financial aid awards, but you cannot view them yet. Quoted directly from the email I got: “Notification of your Amherst financial aid award will be available on-line through your Net Partner account on Thursday, April 5; hard-copy notification letters will also be mailed on that day.” Hope this helps!

^Well, why would they determine my financial aid awards IF I have not been admitted? (I don’t know yet whether I have or have not)

Numfar, if you google the “review your awards” thing, you will see that in the past only admitted people would have it AND they would have the same problem that you and I have - when they would click on it, it would take them to the checklist, but then after the financial aid notification date that same link would take them to their actual award. :)

OMG. I am sooooo confused. I just do NOT want to trick myself into believing that I am admitted and then get rejected. I will ask my counselor to check what’s happening tomorrow. If you have some more input, I’d be thankful. :)

So, is others did not get that link on portal, it means that they have been rejected or waitlisted, right? So nervous because of this - don’t know what to think.

I too can see the link on portal, and I was admitted for diversity purposes. I am assuming that if you can see the link, you were admitted, but this is just speculation on my part. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Same position as Maddyc123 and a few of you on here. I went to DivOH last October and didn’t get an early admit email. I’m a little anxious though because a few friends that I made through DivOH got their emails and were invited to the next one. /:

Can you guys upload the screen shot of this link? I mean the picture where others would be able to see how it dooes look like.
Thank you so much.

Sorry, I don’t have photobucket or anything like that. But when I log into my account, I see under my Financial Aid:
2012: Application Complete, 2012: Award Info Available
The current requirements for your 2012 aid application are complete.
A financial aid determination has been made. You may review your awards.

Clicking on “review your awards” loops me to the financial aid checklist. For what it’s worth, I did not attend DivOH, as I was not invited.

There you go:
http://i44.■■■■■■■.com/1zdm9sx.jpg

Ignore the “Your FA is incomplete.” It is now.
Look to the left and up. :)

I think it’s also important to note whether or not your financial aid application is actually complete in the first place… If it is not then you would not be seeing such statements…

Has nothing to do with that…
I never had this statement until today.
And as you can see in the last line it clearly says that my aid has already been determined and I can review it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that my FA application obviously is complete. The enigma comes from the very last line. ;)

Ok, I just went through a 2010 thread about the same topic.

a quote from the thread:

another one:

and for good measure another one:

And here’s an interesting link check out.

For me, it says that the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE 2012-13 has NOT been received. What?! I sent that thing in Mid-January!

edit: ^ what he said

EXACTLY @amk933 you have no idea what you are talking about. If anyone on here is missing documents/the computer thinks they are missing documents but it is a glitch, you will not have a statement that your award is ready because DUH they can’t make an award without all the information. Trust me I am having this same issue with Swarthmore and I have been accepted already.

LOL I’m more concerned about being Asian and not being invited to the Diversity Open House…

ready2go2: The site says my finaid is ready, even though they still need proof of citizenship from me…

UChi2016EA: I’m a little concerned too, but someone earlier (white) said their criteria for Diversity Open House might be different than we think.

@littlepenguin Proof of citizenship is way different from missing CSS or in my case Parent’s Tax Transcript

And yeah it seems that the criteria for being accepted into the Diversity Open House is not limited to minorities/multicultural. It seems like the people accepted so far have been white with high scores…

@ready2go2: Geographic diversity is also considered. Perhaps they come from states that do not normally send students to LACs.

Oh yes, that too. I wouldn’t freak out about it though for those who did not get invited such as myself, I’m sure majority of accepted students do not get invited.

https://www.amherst.edu/media/view/102007/original/Permission%2BForm%2Bfunding%2BOpen%2BHouse%2B09.pdf

Do they pay for anything as they did in 2009? Because, if so, not every minority (or WASP) will be invited.

The email said that they will be funding our trip, yeah…which is why I think I got it, since my family is low-income.
