Amherst?

So Amherst is obviously an incredible school, one of the best liberal arts schools in the country, I wanted to major in Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought, I heard that Department is great, but I read somewhere that the average GPA ranges from a 3.4 to a 3.7 and the SAT Scores for
Math: 530-640
Reading: 510-620
Writing: 570-660

I just started my junior year, in NY
My average GPA is 92(3.6 out of 4.0, unweighted), I took Earth Science in 8th grade, did Bio and Chem,
I took honors english and SS in 9th grade, honors english in 10th along with AP World where I finished with a 90 and got a 4 on the AP

Math is going to drag me down, not my strong point so I took Algebra in 9th, Geometry in 10th, and I'm in a remedial form of Trig now

Junior year I'm taking AP Lit, APUSH, and AP Spanish ( I got a 100 on my Spanish III regents last year)

In my sophomore year I was VP and starting this year I am President of our schools Environmental Club

Outside of school for the past two years I have been involved in a youth owned and operated 501C3 organization where I am VP that focuses on doing volunteer work around our village.
I have wanted to go to Bing for a few years and I am pretty sure I will be able to get in, I just would like your opinion

I really liked what I saw from Amherst, until I saw those numbers so 1) Could I get in, and 2) Are Those Numbers Correct. Thanks in advance!

bump, please respond

Those numbers sound accurate for UMass Amherst. You need to be more careful in your research. While they are both part of the 5 college consortium, and about 10 minutes apart, Amherst is a private LAC and UMass is a large state school.

It is very likely that you would get in at UMass Amherst. Amherst College is a lot more competitive.

Well I wasn’t looking into UMass Amherst, because Amherst is obviously a much better school

Those test scores seem off

Yea. They are definitely wrong:

SAT critical reading 670-770
SAT math 670-770
SAT writing 680-770

Well thats comforting lol, those scores confused me because those obviously aren’t great.

So now that that’s been clarified, do you think assuming I do well on my SAT’s, that I would have a shot at getting in?

bump bump
