An Interesting Dilemma...

Hi,

So (thanks to some lucky star) I will be heading to Harvard next year. I have played sometimes unhealthy amounts of video games throughout my life; gaming is a sort of passion of mine. Now, I've got my eyes on the new Xbox One console, but my family is not extremely well off, so the console would be a significant investment for me. My question is this: considering the busy life of the typical Harvard extraordinaire, will I have much time to continue gaming? Believe me, I'm very excited about the academic, social, and extracurricular opportunities that will be afforded to me for the next four years; I am simply trying to figure out whether an investment in a new console at this time would be justified. Any help from those knowledgeable about the Harvard life would be much appreciated!

Congrats on your acceptance! Well I don’t claim to know anything significant about Harvard’s educational system, but having a relative that went there, yes like any school you will definitely have free time. However, something to consider are you planning to bring the console to campus or just playing it during breaks? You may find that your dorm mates may bring one as well, or that there may be a club you can join where people who share those interests will join you (and perhaps a system already provided). Otherwise you can start your own club and Harvard being Harvard would definitely fund you. So yeah, it all depends on how much you’re going to use it the next few years!
