I'm trying to take SAT practice tests under the most realistic conditions possible. While I realize going to a library where you're bound to find some background noise is ideal, I'd like a similar scenario at my own home.

My request: an audio file that has typical "background noise" that one would hear during an examination such as the SAT. If I had such a file, I'd be able to listen to it as I took my tests, which I feel would prepare me well.

Is anyone aware of such an odd file I could find?

There is a program called OmniProctor on rocketreview.com. I'm not sure if it free. I have this program since I bought Adam Robinson's book- Rocket Review Revolution and it includes an acessible acount to this program. Check it anyways, it's really cool!!! You hear background noises such as students turning their pages, sneezing, birds outside etc. There is also a proctor that calles time..lol

Aww :( I got all excited about this, downloaded the program from their website, and they require a CD Key from their review book. I'm contemplating buying the book just for this.

don't be so anal about it and take it at home, eventually your scores at home (under relaxed conditions) will equal (with more practice) your score under a bit of pressure

lucky you for having a quiet house. I never have moments without background noise here.
but search google, there's probably a website with free background noise.
(just guessing though).
