Hi all,

I know there has been some speculation as to the letters/emails that HSSEAS sends to some applicants telling them that they have been "recommended for admission" and that they have been invited to an open house. At today's open house, I asked two counselors bluntly: Does getting that letter mean that you are accepted? They gave each other funny looks (as if they didn't want to tell me something) and then admitted that getting the letter is "a very good sign" and that "99% of the applicants who receive those letters are eventually admitted." Reading between the lines, it seemed to me that the letter is definitely a precursor to admission, though it looks like they reserve the right to make a final decision to reject a student regardless of whether they got the letter.

Hope that helps ;)
