And so it begins . . .

Wow on scholarship which I just saw on this thread. Montclair is near NYC??

It’s in NJ :)

bisouu what fabulous news!!! Huge congrats!!!
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, either way is an honor, but do you mean $56,000 total, or $56,000 per year?

oops…sorry $56,000 total  It came as two awards…a $16,000 and a $40,000…

WOW!! WOWZERS!!! That’s HUUUUGE!!! CONGRATS!

That is sweet Bisouu!!!

That’s great, a big win for you and your daughter. (And something to be truly thankful for!)

Such great news! Your D should feel so proud.

Wow! Congratulations! if this question is too nosy just ignore it. But are these scholarships for academic merit, out of state, need, or what? That’s a lot of money for a school with a lot lower tuition than many others, so it’s confusing. I’m assuming it’s not talent since she hasn’t auditioned, yet. Again, congrats.

It’s not too nosey…I sent you a PM :)

Wonderful news! Good luck at auditions!

My son received a big academic merit grant from Montclair too. Montclair is strong in the arts, but not very selective academically, and they really court academically accomplished students.

We are in-state, so my son’s tuition at Montclair would have been very low. He chose to attend a different program, though. We felt kind of sad turning Montclair down, as it would have been a very solid choice for training at a wonderfully low cost.

Woo!! Hoo!!! That is GREAT news bisouu… and I’m sure makes the wait for the other EA school much easier:).

Got our academic acceptance from Hartt today…2 down 10 to go…

Yeah!!! Tell her to break a leg with those auditions! Did you see the reports from Haart on another thread?

I know it’s not a rejection but our EA school just rolled her into regular decision :(

:( bummer bissou

Sorry to hear about the bump bisouu…but I know good things are in store for your D… just have to wait a bit longer!

Well… I am FINALLY done… S accepted yesterday ED to his dream school…KENYON!!! He was SOOOO excited and I surprised him the envelope at his HS when he was at his rehearsal for his choir concert… he got to run around sharing the news with all his friends… it was priceless. Also to say Kenyon was generous with aid would be an understatement… He might if been crying tears of joy for getting accepted, but I was broke out in sobs when I saw the aid award… we have won the lottery!

It is hard to believe that after 5 boys this is it… but I can’t say that I am not ready:) I will be with all of you still in the next few months cheering you all on…and Times3 I am sure we will get to know each other better as I will have many questions…wink wink:)
