I finally accessed the page, but STILL no decision! Seriously, what the heck is their problem? This is the worst system ever!

even i havent been able to see my decision yet ... i called the CMU office ... they said they posted my letter on Friday ... so i guess add 4 dayz to tht ... which will be around Tuesday ...

might be the same for u guys ... but i hv a pretty bad feeling abt this ... are we ultra-rejected or somethin ... i had SAT 2000+ nd GPA of around 4.0 (weighted) ... nd i am an international ready to pay the full fee ... damn ... lost hope neways

I finally have my line say "Accepted". I wasn't checking last night (last time i checked was 4pm) but either they changed it last night or early this morning.

wow, i can't believe i got waitlisted. I'm 3rd in my class, have a 2290 SAT, most rigorous curriculum, etc. I was 100% i would get in

what the frick :(
still no blank line or decision
maybe they want to offer me one of those half-tuition scholarships

no blank or decision either.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN????

what are your stats, etre?
maybe we all got fabulous moneyz and that's why they're making us wait ;)

3.8 weighted with all IB classes, 2220 sats, cfa audition for violin, extra curricular insanity (from multi-state orchestra concertmaster to fire department emt to 4 years varsity soccer/travel soccer to coaching soccer to teaching violin to church retreats, etc.), creative writing supplement, intent to double major with neuroscience/music performance, so applied for BHA program. i have a bad feeling about this, seriously.

I have similar stats to you and I don't have a decision up either.

I hope eliz is right about the scholarship thing but I really doubt it.

Hopefully this doesn't mean rejection - then i'm pretty much doomed to go to a safety.

haha, i doubt it as well. ugh.

Well, I had called them on friday when my decision wasn't up; they said one of my schools had made a decision a while back, but the other one only made the decision on thursday. They said it would possibly be up during the weekend, but more likely monday. Maybe you are in a similar situation.

I still have serious doubts that I'm going to get in, the way this whole thing is going - they were probably lying to me, as it seems they've lied to a bunch of others.

haha, i got in... but i gotta say... the CMU admission committee is full of *******s

denied...I still respect CMU for what it is and the legacy it has, but I agree with what everyone else says about its Admissions department. It is indeed screwed to the core they can choke on all of their lies and deceptive practices....looks like I'm going to Georgia Tech or UF!

I really think that CMU should put up every decision at one point in time, and I want to call/write to them and tell them why their system is broken.

My only fear is that the admissions person will just see me as a jealous and vengeful loser, rather than someone who's just mad about them lying to their applicants.

Yes, I know that admitted students are worth more to the school than rejected or waitlisted students, and I respect that. But they're still people, and it's still not right to lie to them.

RChris173 - My S may be looking at the same choices - have you been to GaTech? What do you think of it?

GR

Just checked today and waitlisted in CIT and MCS. Nothing was updated yesterday. also WL at Johns Hopkins. Admitted to UCLA, UCSD, so will probably stay in sunny calif!

D2 just admitted to CIT and MCS. Wow...

GeeksRule,

I have never been to the Atlanta, GA...I applied because of its reputation and several people I've known have told me what a great place it is and that they were going to go there. I really intended on going to UF until I decided to apply to GA TECH and CMU as "reach schools."

When I found out I was admitted to GA TECH I was a given more options. Now that I've been denied at CMU, I feel better because I almost sensed it and it gives me closure.

GA TECH is one of the best engineering schools from what I've read and been told, but if I decide not to do something in that field, I will be limited with what they offer. It isn't as diverse as UF, but thats my opinion. I toured University of Florida, University of Central Florida, and Florida Atlantic University.

Because I was admitted to both UF and GA TECH, those are my top choices.

GA TECH offerd me about $12,020.00 in grants, but the rest will have to be paid in loans.

Going to UF will be cheaper because of the Bright Futures and Florida Prepaid...

I liked Gainesville, it's a nice little college town, but is not close to the beach and not near the rich area of FL (Jupiter, Palm Beach, etc.)...where I live (I'm not rich btw)...

If I have an oppurtunity to visit Atlanta before I make a decision, then it might change what I think..

Perception of place changes once you visit someplace in person...

Now I ask you the same, have you been to Atlanta? If so, what do you think of it?

Thanks...btw..this is kinda off topic, so maybe a PM to me instead of CMU's thread.

Thanks

I don't think CMU lied since a small minority did get accepted. Maybe they are at fault for implying that you have nothing to worry about but then again you would be ****ed if they said you should worry and you were one of the few that were accepted. That is even worse IMO.

Good luck to everyone.

RChris173 - thanks! just sent you a PM.
