GRADES:
I will post my 8th & 9th grade grades as soon as possible, but here are my grades I received from my current boarding school so far.
(I'm still a 9th grader since 9th grade is the last year of Middle School in China.)

Midterm:
Spanish I: A+ 4.3
AP French: A 4.7 (AP courses get 2 bumps)
Adv. Alg. and Trig.: B+ 3.3
Biology: B+ 3.3
World Civilizations: B- 2.7
Freshman English A- 3.7
Overall GPA: 3.67 (Dean's List Honors: above 3.3)

Fall Term:
Spanish I: A+ 4.3
AP French: A- 4.3
Adv. Alg. and Trig. A 4.0
Biology: B 3.0
World Civilizations: A- 3.7 (I worked REALLY hard to go from a B- to an A-)
Freshman English B+ 3.3
Overall GPA: 3.77 (Dean's List High Honors: above 3.7)

So basically my GPA improved a little. This transaction wasn't so easy since I never spoke English at school since 2nd grade. But I worked pretty hard. I am pretty confident I can bring my GPA to a 4.0 during my winter term. (I think I'll have enough time to send out my winter mid-terms before the application deadline.)

COMMUNITY SERVICE:
-During the Tsunami disaster in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, I helped send food and clothing to the disaster zone in the US air base.
-During the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, I volunteered as a bilingual tour guide and was named an Advanced Individual for Active Participation in the Olympic Activities

FUTURE DREAMS:
-Start an international school chain that gives less fortunate children who can't pay for school the opportunity to study, have better lives, and contribute more to the society.

Chance me please!! And if there's any advice or tips that might be useful, I would really appreciate it if you can just leave a comment!

PS: 1. I'm kinna nervous about my interview, what are all the potential questions? (I'll be having my first interview (Exeter) in December)
2. I have only known my teachers for 2 months, and I don't know what my recommendations will be like (the only thing I'm REALLY worried about). However, I can get superb recommendations from my teachers from last year (but they only speak Chinese, so I might have to translate them).
3. I don't know which school should be my safety. I'm thinking Lawrenceville, Blair, Loomis Chaffee. What are my chances? Is this an appropriate choice?

Thanks a lot!!

btw, I’m applying for 10th grade

Only Andover?

I will be applying to Phillips Andover (First Choice), Phillips Exeter, St. Paul’s School for sure. And also Hotchkiss, Choate, Groton, Deerfield, Middlesex, Milton, Lawrenceville, Peddie, Blair, Loomis Chaffee, but I still have to choose.

Andover and Exeter are my top choices  You’re stats are awesome the only thing is that you’re completing with a bunch of other asians with similar stats so your Essays need to be pretty killer.

Good luck!! Where else are you applying? Did you do any interviews yet?

I’m also applying to The Hotchkiss School and The Asheville School. I’ve already done the Exeter and Hotchkiss interview and they went great :D

What kind of questions did they ask?

Relax already, will you? You’ll get into a school. Worse thing throughout this process is to be super anxious.

I guess, I’m just really worried mostly because I don’t know what my recommendations will be like since I spent only 2 months with my teachers… (I just transferred)

Interviews: tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to go to XXX school?
What kind of activities interest you?
What do you think you’d like to study (in college and beyond).
Tell me about the time you XXXX.

btw, CHANCE MEE

Tell me about the time you XXXX?

Also, I heard they also ask questions such as, what is your favorite book? Is that true? What other questions do they ask?

and what do you think my chances are? based on this

I’ve been to about 5 interviews so far and the questions are all really different. Some that they might ask you are: What is your greatest achievement? What are three words that you would use to describe yourself? How did you become interested in independent schools? How does your diversity help and what can you bring to the school? Why do you want to switch boarding schools (assuming it’s not a junior boarding school)?
The best advice is to be yourself and don’t be nervous. Interviews only matter if you do really bad or really good on them. After all, the information that you tell them will be on your application.
Your chances for Andover are probably pretty high assuming that you don’t bomb your ssats and your essays. You seem like a student that they’d be interested in.

wow you have quite the credentials. They will love how many languages you know; every school wants a culturally aware student. You should get in. Chance me if you get the time.

you’re the slight amplification of me. but sadly for you I am more unique  because I’m not in Asia

That does not mean You are more Unique, You racist

How is that racist?
