<p>Hey guys! I am an international student from Scotland, attend one of the most rigorous IB prep schools in the country</p>

<p>SAT: 2250 [760 CR, 760 W, 730 M]
SAT II: 720 Bio, 710 Chem, 700 English (weakest part of my app)</p>

<p>GCSE’s (10th Grade) : All A*s (top mark - 10 subjects)</p>

<p>IB Predictions:
HL Econ:7
HL Bio: 7
HL Spanish: 7
SL Maths: 7
SL English: 6/7
SL Chem :7</p>

<p>TOK: A , EE: B
TOTAL =44 points</p>

<p>Great Essays (wrote about the economics principles behind popularity, intellectual curiosity using TOK as a metaphor)
Recommendations: Should have been great
Extracurriculars: Strongest is music: 2 x orchestra’s , regional orchestra, flute choir, windband, set up my own flute trio, performed at Barbican (international venue in London) in front of Tony Blair, Grade 8 Flute (highest level of achievement), receiving a professional diploma in June
Senior Prefect and Head Girl- Sort of like student government, 14 out of a sixth form of 400
Habitat for Humanity- organized various fundraisers - in total raised over £4000
Internship at the Centre for Global Development in the program of Drug Resistance and Global health for 2 months summer 2008
Roedean School (school for mentally disabled children) Volunteering 4 hours each week for 4 years, organized sports day and helped at christmas plays. </p>

<p>Although I don’t know much about the IB program, from what I understand getting all or mostly 7’s in those subjects is extremely difficult, so clearly you will be qualified academically.</p>

<p>In terms of other factors (as you present them here), it would seem that your unique and intellectual essays and your musical talent sets you apart. If the adcoms really like your writing and/or a music professor gives good reviews of your tape, I would think you would have a strong shot.</p>

<p>Besides those, you seem like the kind of applicant for which the decision comes down more to how you present yourself and how much your school and teachers will be behind you in recommending you.</p>
