Sorry to make another chances thread but I guess im going to anyways :).

Here we are, applying for fall 2010 for civil engineering.

GPA: 3.59 W
SAT: 1920 (720 CR, 610 M, 590 W)
Class rank: 214/689
ECs: a lot of work experience, cross country 3 years, lacrosse 1 year, clubs, freshmen mentoring programs, some volunteer hours but not much.

I come from a competitive high school in Southern California.

they don’t do W. what’s your Unweighted?
i think your stats are pretty good, just typical, and the fact you’re out of state doesn’t really help :P. but i think you have a chance, can’t really say though.

Not to be mean or anything, but I don’t think it really matters that you went to a competitive school. I went to a school 10 minutes away from UW that was ranked 34th in the nation, but I doubt the admission counselors would even consider that if my GPA was lower than what they are looking for.

That aside, you might have a chance. I think your GPA might be a bit too low. Like the person above said, W GPA is basically only for class rank. Please include your UW.

yeah but keep your head up like just4ivaylo. if your essay is good, it can reverse the decision. and i am in the same boat as you with a low gpa :/, decent sats, and good ECs. hopefully i can write a good essay, get higher sats, and improve my ECs and get in same with you
