Another "changes of getting in" thread.

Since it seems that every single person I talk to has a completely different opinion on what colleges I have a chance of getting into, I figured posting a few threads here (I am posting this thread in a few sections and I'm new to this, so please don't chew my head off if I seem like a noob) couldn't hurt.

I know its long, but I really want a clear assesment of my actual chances of getting accepted to Pomona. Thanks in advance :)

if you weren't a first generation female planning to major in math, i'd say you'd have no chance due to your AP/SAT scores. study for the SAT, study some more, and don't forget to study! =)

you're ECs look pretty good

Given that your parents did not attend college, your high school success speaks well of your ability to do well independently. As for your ECs, what sports are you actually doing in HS?

Your math AP scores definitely demonstrate your strength in that area. It's a tough one to call. My advice is to apply if you really want to attend Pomona. Given the (1) number of college-age students and (2) number of applications students are filing, there is no way to accurately predict one's chances.

Good luck!

If at the time of application, you already have a 5 on BC, and are taking advanced math, that will be looked upon very favorably by the adcoms. Just make sure it comes through in your essays that you really want to attend
