So I'm a chemical engineering intent and for math i have to take MATH10550 and 10560. I took AP Calc AB this year and I know I got at least a 4 on it, so I will be able to place out of 10550. However, I've heard from other schools that the AB test doesn't cover some topics that are in the Calc1 curriculum. Does anyone know if this is true for ND? Since math will be such a big part of the rest of my education I want to know I'll be starting out on the right foot and not putting myself into a class without the right prerequisites.

I am not sure off-hand but that is something First Year of Studies should be able to help you with. You also can go with your gut and just try a class. If it seems too easy/hard, make a change! That is the nice thing about college, there is usually flexibility.

The Naval ROTC officer sent me a letter saying that that average score for someone in Calc B who placed out of Calc A with AP scores is a C. Just something to consider.
