Should heroes be defined as people who say what they think when we ourselves lack the courage to say it ?

Heroes are people usually considered to be greater than the normal crowd . They are the people who stand up for us and do extraordinary things normal people cannot hope to do . However this definition is limited to myths and comic books . The true mark of a hero is courage . Courage is the key factor that divides the hero who defies the authorities and the regular person who does not say anything . After all , there are no superhumans in the real world . We are all born the same , but some people live to become legends.
Rosa Parks is one such person and her story is a truly a testament to the definition of a true hero . Parks was a working woman who would come home everyday ,weary and tired, by the local bus. However, at the time , segregation was rampant and the law was such that white people were given preference in terms of bus seats . The rule stated that if a white passenger entered the bus , a black passenger must give up his or her seat . But on that day , Rosa was so exhausted that she refused to get up . Even when persecuted by the bus driver , she didn't budge . In fact ,she stayed resolute even when she was arrested . When the public became aware of this incident, protests and riots were carried out in several cities . This was the turning point for the black people , whose protests and rebellions became more frequent and strong until apartheid was finally banished . Rosa Parks , was not only the person who said what others were afraid to , but also the person who never backed down ,stayed resolute when her future was uncertain and stood by the cause she endorsed till the very end .
A more recent hero is the young Pakistani girl who became famous recently for demanding education for girls in her country . For a long time , the education provided to girls in Pakistan was not adequate and this issue got apathetic reactions by authorities. However, one girl finally decided ti stand up for her rights and publicise this issue very strongly . She received several death threats among various other problems she faced , but she remained undeterred. She has been recently awarded by the UN fir her efforts and continues to strive for her cause .
Thus, from the examples of the two empowered women who stood up for their rights, it is clearly seen that heroes are defined, not by some superhuman strength, but a strong heart and the courage required to stand up for others when they have everything to lose . It is these people who are responsible for the world we live in today .
