Another question about tranferring to UCB!

I major in CS in a CCC now
I wanna transfer to UCB as CS(BA) in L&S college.
So I need to finish IGETC or L&C Essential Skills Requirements(Reading&Composition, Foreign Language and Quantitative Reasoning)

I check the assist about the Essential skills requirements
ASSIST Report: SMCC 11-12 UCB GE/Breadth Articulation Agreement

Hope someone can see it and answer my question:
In the Q&R table, Do I need to finish all those listed courses???? Or just some of them??? It doesn't mention at all
It would be really too much to complete them all

Thank you!

Nobody knows??

Go to the UCB CS major undergraduate website and see what prerequisites they need. Then match those prereq courses up with the ones in assist to see which ones you need and what you can take to fulfill them. You should only have to pick one from the huge lists they give you.

General-ed wise, I know you need to finish R&C, Foreign Language, and reasoning. The 7-year L&S breadths just have to be finished before you graduate.

I would usually find and post the link for you, but I’m feeling really lazy. Sorry.

Are you sure?? If I just need to choose one from each list is it kind of too little to be requiered to transfer to UCB````
I mean my major is CS, and major requirements are just like 4 math courses, and I just need another 4 or 5 courses is ok???

BTW, do you know if I am already an international student if I still need to take foreign language courses?

For the QR requirement listed on the link you gave, you just need to take one of the courses listed (which you need to take some of anyway to transfer to Berkeley L&S CS).

Your other option for L&S is to fulfill IGETC before transferring:
[Office of Undergraduate Advising: Summary of Degree Requirements](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirement/summary.html)
[University of California - Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC)](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/requirements/additional-requirements/igetc/index.html)

Your best bet is to make an appointment with a transfer counselor at your CC,
as soon as possible.

They will be able to give you the most recent criteria for admission into the different schools and/or majors, as some science or CS majors do not require the full IGETSE to be completed for admission since you’ll need to have completed more computing and math than a humanities or business student.

As to your original question, no you do not need to finish all of the required courses. Because the application window is so narrow (November 1 - 30), on the application you will indicate: In Progress for your fall classes, and Planned for your anticipated spring classes.

As the OP intends to transfer to Berkeley L&S, completing IGETC before transfer can be used. Transfers to Berkeley Engineering or Business need to fulfill the specific breadth requirements of those divisions, which do not accept IGETC as a substitution. Berkeley Engineering breadth requirements do require upper division humanities and/or social studies courses, which cannot be taken at a community college.

Thank you!!
So do you know if an international student need to fulfill the foreign language course??
