I JUST GOT ONE!!! Chinese woman applying to Engineering, FYI!

^^ YAYYY Congrats!!!!

im asian male, obvious coe lol

my S applied to cas

I noticed that some posters say 3-5% receive likely letters. Is that of total applicants, or just accepted students?

How many guys have received this letter? I hate being a white male applying for Engineering. :(

I'm curious as to why everyone is concerned about the race/gender of people who are receiving their letters. I don't mean this rudely, just curious as to how it effects things. =)

Likely letter are generally given out to under represent students or exceptional students. In the case of the engineering likely letter, there aren't many women that major in engineering. Hope that answers the question.

I got a likely letter for engineering and i'm an asian female. I checked the facebook group and there's a good number of females. Also, I think being white is a plus if you're applying to engineering. It's only bad if you're an asian male.

Well if any white males received this please post! I just want to know if they rarely send it to white males or if I simply wasn't highly competitive.

Oh ok, thanks class2009college. =)

I got a letter saying I was accepted in advance to Arts&Sciences.
I'm a hispanic female... so I think that's why I got in.

Because really, I'm at the top of my class-ish (5%...), but I'm not the most exceptional student who applied to Cornell in my school.
