I don’t understand the problem people have with homosexuality. That’s probably just a product of my upbringing though. I’m so thankful to have parents who are intelligent, rational, decent people. They raised me to be accepting and open minded, which is pretty nice. In fact, I’m pretty sure my dad had a friend throughout his childhood who was homosexual. It’s pretty obvious it didn’t turn my father homosexual (key word being father).

^^

Pride, not trying to be mean, just saying that, I used to say the exact same things you did, until I came out, haha. I just thought it was ironic. Most guys that say things like that are in the closet. But some guys just really are straight even though they have tons of girl friends, it is possible.

i used to be somewhat anti-gay for a few years but ever since last year i’ve really become okay with the issue and accepting people for who they are, despite their sexual orientation. i have super conservative asian parents though who would disown me if i ever turned lesbian. nearly everyone in my school is very liberal.

i did meet some kids from CA this past summer who were talking about how “weird” it would be for gay parents to raise children. they thought that somehow the children would be brainwashed into become gay and that would be the end of straight folks. i was so unbelievable appalled at their idiocy, that was the end of our acquaintance, haha.

Other than brainwashing since age 1, I don’t see how people can have such a misconstrued view of homosexuality. “It’s a choice! It’s a sin!”

Right. “HAI GUYZZZ AH’M BOARD! LETZ BE GAY CUZ AH LUV BEAN OSTRASIZE BY DA REST OF SOSIGHETEE!”

im actually pro-gay marriage and rights

my mom who is usually a lot more liberal than I am, is not

im probably one of the only ppl in my school that is pro-gay

im writing my paper about gay marriage and people are like "oh but at the end you are going to say ‘not really’ about everything you write in support, right?’ and im like… “eh no im not that stupid i think they should have equal rights” and they are like “oh…well uh the bible blah blah blah”

one of my friends, kind of like a radical liberal, would so get kicked out of a conservative school in the south. she has a tendency to snap at anyone who disagrees with her and she has this ferocious quality to her that forces those around her to agree with her. she went to one of those leadership conferences last year and absolutely hated it because there were so many conservatives there. but it’d certainly be interesting to see how she’d handle your school, fromthesouth!

well it would seem like it would be a liberal school, since it is over half black (im white personally) and all the black kids are ‘OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA’…just another example of people voting for race rather than the actual politics, seeing as they all oppose so many things democrats support, they are all anti-abortian, anti-gay, anti free borders all that.

im anti-illegals but im pro-choice and pro-gay

and im the “conservative” LOL

im independent really.

^

Totally true. I dislike the fact that 90% of African Americans vote Democrat (and elect Obama), but they are going to vote against democratic beliefs? (See proposition 8, California.)

Being a liberal in Texas is hard… I’m very open minded about homosexuality. I am Catholic, and I believe that homosexuality isn’t natural. But far be it from me to cram my religion down anyone’s throat. I’m not going to force my morals on anyone else, I believe everyone should be able to figure out things for themselves. Gays are people too, just like me, and I think they should have the same basic civil liberties that I do.

homosexuality is natural…it happens all the time in the animal kingdom

^ Just my opinion. But like I said, I tend to keep my opinions to myself. I think it’s ridiculous to claim that America is the land of the free, and then proceed to take away the civil rights of its citizens.

^^^

Ansar, there are many gays who never even have anal sex in their life. Anyways, I was wondering when somebody was going to throw that out there.

As a gay male, I don’t know if homosexuality is natural. I mean, I never really wanted to be, but some things you just can’t deny yourself. I’m waiting for in the future, there will be a pill offered for gays to take daily, to make them straight. Everyone always asks me if I’d take something like that, and, I have never really been able to give an answer.

I think that’s the sad thing is blacks are conservatives without even knowing it. And they criticize me for being a black conservative.

^blacks are conservative in all social issues, but when it comes to fiscal matters, they are as liberal as it comes - go figure.

i’m the exact opposite (white male). close those borders. don’t give money to people who are lazy and/or stupid. but give everyone their rights, healthcare included.

my parents have their own friends who are lesbian.

You do realize that if none of the blacks in California voted at all, then Same-sex marriage would still be outlawed? I hate when people try to blame African-Americans for same sex marriage being outlawed when the vast majority of the people who voted against same-sex marriage were NOT black.

to King818: You can’t say “blacks are this…” because you don’t know every black person.

this thread is just so ridiculous.

I AM NOT TRYING TO STEREOTYPE the black race. I’m just saying, for that 95% of Blacks that voted for Obama in California, how can they have a double standard and prove conservative for proposition 8.

It’s definitely true. My mom sees herself as a “liberal”, yet she’s against interracial marriage and often throws jokes about other races around. Black people are very conservative.

my mom is definitely not anti-gay, but my dad pretty much is.

well then it’s a good thing you can’t change your sexual orientation, isn’t it. =]

I call BS on that one because my priest says you can, and he’s always right!
