Is anyone else anxious to hear from Schreyer? The wait seems so long .

I didn’t apply to SHC but I’m nervous to hear from everyone else.

I am SO nervous! I heard they’re posting decisions online on March 8!
I was just wondering, do you guys know if SHC looks at midyear grades?

Schreyer doesn’t look at mid-year grades. And yes I’m really nervous too haha.

I am really depressed because of it and it is not because I think I wont get in, it is just that I have been so exited and anxious for so long that I feel really sick… No really I do. But hey I got a full ride to Rutgers and the only reason I would not go there is because of SHC so this is all my bet. I turned down U of Chicago for Rutgers and I will drop Rutgers for SHC so you can get the idea of how much I want to go there. I need help… lol this is literally killing me. Well Good LUCK to every one and GET SOME SLEEP…

Very nervous to hear back. My grades are definitely good enough to get me accepted but I’m not sure how my essays fared. I’ll hope for the best!

creacher u turned down UChicago? That mustve been a tough decision!! Idk if I wanna turn down Notre Dame for Schreyers =(

Listen, I have an F in AP Calc and if I had accepted the offer they would have taken away my admission and I would have to go to community college, not that is bad but I just dont think that is a fit for me… but SHC offers a great edu with low maintenance and RU will be free so I have to take a pick from those two. That is the hardest thing ever! Go to school for free or get my dream degree in a great school and be 100k+ in loans? (RU does not offer the major I am looking for)

No offense creacher, based on what I’m hearing SHC isn’t “low maintenance” but is a ton of work. It’s obviously doable, but it’s not extremely easy.

I agree with andybatts. I would not differentiate Schreyer much from UChicago… it’s been said that Schreyer holds its own with the top tier schools. It’s wildly different from Rutgers, for example. Also, if you have an F in AP Calc, isn’t it possible that Schreyer will also rescind their offer? That’s a pretty rough grade…

I know, but they said one F is ok…

BTW I meant less core classes by low maintenance, I know SHC can pack a punch… But are you willing to pay all that money seems to be the big question here. I am able to pay but I would be 100K+ in debt… That is a very large number! Rutgers just is a bad choice for me due to me being an NJ student.
P.S my semester GPA is a 91 even with that F so I think SHC will be ok with it, it is not like I am not trying… But if they dont like it I will cry my eyes out because it is my #1 choice.

Yeah I see what you mean. Good luck to you. I don’t think SHC looks at your mid year grades but rather your previous years. Good luck to everyone. If I get in I’m almost 100% going.

lol creacher i also got the full ride offer to rutgers with the presidential scholarship…but to be honest going there never crossed my mind…i would rather have the debt…although im majoring in engineering so i should be alright financially coming out of school assuming i do alright

I know what you mean but I want to major in astronomy and I have to get my Phd. That would make me 250k+ in debt with a degree that does not have a high yield. So I need to save up as much as I can to go to a good grad school.

creacher, grad students in the sciences generally do not pay for graduate school they either get fellowships if they are near the top of their class or assistant-ships otherwise. Any top 20 grad school will provide tuition plus 25K to 30K dollars to live on.

you are kidding me… then how do they make money… well I guess I can answer that but would you turn down a full ride for a major (not in SHC) at penn state and pay 100k? what would you do if you were in my shoes.

I think they make money knowing that if you are accepted to their grad school program you are going out in the world and you are going to be rich and donate back

I am quite generous if I do say my self (; lol all jocks aside I think I just might take on the 100k challenge. people have been telling me that 100k is a horrible thing, according to NJ talk “MAD MONEY!” so now you know why I said I am getting very ill, because of the decisions I must make the stress is killing me! it is really killing me!!!.. cool down count from 100… 99 98 97 96…

I am impressed that you are worried about making a decision that is not yet yours to make. Your confidence is great. I am still only hoping to gain admission to shc. My stats are good. Sat-2120 m7400 cr 690act 33. Apparently none of that matters. I wrote heartfelt essays. And have a 4.65 uw 3.91w. This could make a difference in my life. I am not just trading a full ride for a speculation. If I gain acceptance to shc this could be a deciding factor. I have no mad money. Just hard work, high scores and simple essays. I only hope it’s enough.
