Any 2014 ED hopefuls out there?

OH MY GOD I JUST GOT MY LETTER!
I GOT IN!

I’m a girl from southern california by the way :)

Congratulations fruitloops! That’s wonderful news! Can you tell us the postmark date of the letter? Also, did it say how many students were admitted? Thanks, and happy celebrating.

The envelope was postmarked December 11th and it came in a big white envelope with a priority sticker

The letter didn’t say how many were admitted.

OMG, fruitloops that is FANNNNNNNNNNNNtastic, congratulations. I can’t stand this waiting anymore. I think I am driving my son crazy. Although, he did tell me he appreciates me being supportive. I kept wanting him to go to Princeton like his older sister and he kinda’ got angry w/me about that. So, I thought I better start talking about the other good school that starts with a P. Fruit do you have any stats for us? thanks,

I too am so happy for you. Maybe Monday will be our lucky day. Congratulations ~ now you can relax!!! Enjoy the rest of your senior year.

Thanks everybody!! I’m sooooo happy, I honestly didn’t expect this at all!!
stats… hmmm well I don’t really remember everything but I’ll try

SAT: 790 (cr), 790 (w), 710 (m) - superscored
GPA: 3.88 (w) 3.69 (uw) from a pretty competitive private school
Rank: top 24%, but this was pretty messed up because I switched from a private school to a public school my senior year. my old school didn’t rank.

Fruit-----------what was your hook?
thanks,

I really don’t know. I feel like a big part of it was the fact I had to transfer from my private high school to a public school due to financial reasons my senior year. I wrote a supplemental essay on it that I felt really showed what an impact it had on me. Also, I submitted a theatre supplement, plus I’m a Girl Scout and earned my Gold Award, so that might have helped too.

Crap. I have to stay after school on monday for a test.
CONGRATULATIONS THOUGH!!!

Really really really antsy now.

Just to channel my compulsive attention to this forum, I started a decisions thread. Please post there when you get news, and come back here to celebrate or commiserate. Fruitloops, you should be the first to post on that new thread!

Oh, and my D opened a fortune cookie this morning that said “YOU WILL RECEIVE GOOD NEWS FROM FAR AWAY”. How sweet is that?!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! I love Pomona. Oh man. Love love love. I’m a RDer but maybe see you next year :)

He’s in!!! More later

My daughter received her warmest congratulations today. We are thrilled.

My daughter is also in. HOORAY!!! And congrats to everyone else! :)

Wow - 3 more acceptances! Congrats to all of you! Post the official news on this thread if you want to: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pomona-college/828077-official-pomona-college-2014-decision-thread.html</a> (grateful1, I can tell how excited you were; you posted on a decisions thread from 2007 :))

D is home from school, staring at the mailbox. I just hope the suspense will end soon!

Rejected. Not even deferred.
This hurts, a lot.

leeduh, I am really sorry, this whole process seems brutal compared to when I went to college. Have you thought about one of the other 5C’s? Hang in there. You are not alone. Many of the students at my daughter’s school are in the same situation, having not been successful with their first choice ED.

I’m sorry about that leeduh - I know how excited you were. My D’s friend just heard that she got a “no” also, and she’s a great girl. Believe me, you’ll have many options and will be happy next year.

Meanwhile, the mail has come, and there’s nothing. Argh!! Just knowing all these people are getting decisions makes it even harder to wait.

leeduh, I am so sorry. My sister and I have been reading your posts on this thread for a while and we were REALLY rooting for you! But believe me, if this past year has taught me anything, it’s that everything happens for a reason and the place you end up at is the place you were meant to be. Good Luck!!

Congrats everyone who got in! I’m really sorry leeduh, this whole process is a crapshoot anyways. I got deferred from Bowdoin and am applying ED2 to Pomona.
