Thanks for the encouragement guys. To be honest I was expecting a deferral, so a flat out rejection really threw me off. I’m definitely feeling better now than I was 2 hours ago though.

And so ends my love affair with Pomona. Congratulations to everyone who got in. It is a great school and you are all very qualified and deserving. No hard feelings at all.

It was so satisfying to post the official ED acceptance for my D, after what seemed like an excruciating wait. Letter was postmarked 12/11, but it took its time getting here.

We went through an ED rejection with Kid#1 a couple years ago, and it made me not such a big fan of ED. I can hardly believe this worked out! And Pomona came through with a preliminary financial aid offer that was impressively generous, given that I previously thought merit aid would be the only way we’d get any help with this girl’s education. Since she had to give up the merit aid chase to apply ED, I’m very pleased with the outcome.

I had the exact same reaction (and potential ED worry) to the FA package Fauxmom! Pomona is awesome (and CC sure had a great ED acceptance rate).

Nobody on CC applying to Pomona EDII seem to be that active…i wonder how many people actually applied ED II…
3 days! well six days actually…but i think they send them out earlier!

I am checking here periodically to learn when the letters get send. S applied ED2. He would love to go, but we realize that getting into Pomona is pretty darn hard.

yeah it is pretty hard. Everyone is pretty much extremely qualified so its basically whether or not you’re right for that school. The admission officers have a tough job on their hands. :)
