Any advice for a first-time college mom?

The cell phone/internet issues aren't a matter of cost, although that would also be a problem; my mother is reluctant to embrace new technology, especially for her children, and I agree with her to an extent. I owe my academic successes to a childhood free of cell phones, cable, the Internet, iPods, video and computer games, etc.

Also, I've recieved enough financial aid that I'll basically just need money for books and the like, most of which I will pay for myself, so my tuition payment won't be an issue- thank goodness! Things would be a lot harder if I had to depend on my parents financially for my education!

GWF, my son gave up his cell phone because it cost too much, earned money to buy his own computer with a little help from me and is on his way to self sufficiency. With a campus job you will be able to get books and side items. You are on your way. My very best & get those deposits etc. in.
