are there any aussies applying to any US schools? if so, do a lot of aussies apply to US schools? i'm hoping that not very many do... help my chances (which are insanely small, but still...)

hi,

I'm also applying to america from sydney. Which colleges are you applying to? I know there are lots applying to Harvard and Princeston (my interviewer told me) but not too sure about the rest. Which state are you applying from?

add me y17k@hotmail.com <=== applying from melbourne

Hey y17k.....how's life

Hey guys.......applying from Melbourne too. Which schools r u guys looking at?

I talked to this lady at the US education service and she says a few hundred apply from VIC each year

my life is a wreck... can't wait for the last 2 weeks lol

Hey......last 2 weeks of what? R u in Oz right now?

last 2 weeks till i find out the uni decisions.

you're never online anymore these days~

Not true! Seems ur the one too good to grace us with ur presence.
So where r all the other aussies?

hey guys, I'm from sydney, and I'm planning to apply to as many US colleges as possible...even though I would only be able to attend the ones with decent financial aid, ie HYP. I'm disappointed to hear lots of australians apply, lol :( not that I would have much chance anyway.

actually, can any of you give me info on sitting SATs in australia?

Marina........everyone has a chance......depends on which school they choose to apply to. For SATs go on collegeboard.com and register yourself online. Tests will be held on Saturdays.......there are quite a few in the year. I think in Sydney they even have SAT prep courses. Goodluck!
Which year are you in?

So you are a citizen of Australia, xmaspoop?

yes, is that a problem? have you not heard of an australian studying in the UK?
i wonder if you will call me a traitor... pshhhhhh!

i think about 10-12% of Australia are Chinese. Am I wrong?

no, now I don't call you a traitor, but who knows later..

It just explains many things. Btw, why do u apply to us schools?

thanks Bellicious88, is it the same for SAT IIs? And all you guys applying from australia, did you just take the HSC? I'd rather do the IB, but don't want to change schools...oh, and I'm in yr10.

hmm i just did the vce (equivalent of your HSCs) because my school doesnt offer IB. if you have the chance to do IB tho go for it; its much more internationally recognised
