Colby is my first choice school. I would apply ED, but I'm applying for financial aid and my parents aren't comfortable with the commitment that comes with that. I have a 3.2 UW GPA (letter from a counselor explaining poor grades), 28 ACT, URM. Solid ECs and good recs. Do I even have a chance if I apply regular?

People get into small liberal arts schools with your GPA and test scores, but usually there is a hook. Where you on an Olympic team? If the admissions committee is only looking at your GPA and standardiazed test scores as a basis for admission, I would say the odds are probably not in your favor that you will be granted admission.

I ended up going ED at another LAC, but I’m having second thoughts. I have the option of changing my application to ED until the end of the month. Is this something I should consider? Colby is fairly homogenous compared to other LACs, and I think being an URM could mean more for my application than at other schools. What do you think?
