Any chance at Ross for a transfer from MSU?

I'm going into Michigan State this fall as a freshman. It's a nice school, but after spending some time at UMich over the last few months I wish I applied there (fairly certain I'd be admitted to LSA).

It's too late to go to Michigan this year, but I'll make do at MSU and may end up staying. This is hypothetical at the moment, considering I start this fall.

Would an MSU student have a shot at Ross as a transfer under any circumstances? Even with a 4.0 and good ECs? They state clearly on the site that the strength of current college matters, and MSU is not as strong as Ross.

I'm in-state btw.

Average GPA for Mich students that get into Ross is 3.63. Would a 3.9+ at MSU be considered lesser or equal to that, assuming the courseload is difficult?

They accept about 2 non-umich students each year for Ross…

Unfortunately, unless you have some spectacularly interesting/unique activity or angle, your chances are basically nonexistent.

Try to transfer to Michigan in the winter, then apply to Ross at the end of your freshman year. Your chances will be much higher. But if you transfer after a semester at State, a lot of your application will rely on your high school record

Last year 5 transfers were accepted, one being from MSU. Its really tough, just make sure admissions know what you can bring to Ross and good reasons for leaving MSU. Ross admissions encourages transferring to LSA and then applying to Ross.

I’m with allinformichigan. If you really want to get into Ross, transfer into LSA or CoE first, then try for Ross. It might take an extra year though.
