Any chances at Florida Universities and some others?

<p>Hello people!</p>

<p>Due to family problems and such, I couldn't pay attention to school until my junior year. In the beginning of my Junior year, I started paying attention to school. Therefore my grades have an upward trend.</p>

<p>To give an idea, here is the difference between my GPA
My Freshman and Sophomore Combined UW GPA: 2.5
My Junior GPA UW: 3.74
As you can see, my GPA has improved much and I have finished the last semester of my Junior year with straight As.</p>

<p>Here are the courses I have taken:
Freshman year: 4 Honors/Pre-IB, 3 Regular
Sophomore year: 1 AP, 4 Honors/Pre-IB, 2 Regular
Junior year: 6 IB, 1 Pre-IB
And my senior year, I will be taking: 6 IB, 1 AP</p>

<p>Test Scores: 25 on ACT, will retake it after studying, hoping to get at least 28; SAT score sucks, only 1050 Reading/Math</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Volunteered at a local radio station as an editor/producer, officer positions in two prestigeous clubs, participation in a debate conference, about 160 hours community service.</p>

<p>As for the GPA, it is currently 3.05 unweighted with class rank of 10.5%. However, I am taking forgiveness courses to make up for my bad grades in my sophomore year and after finishing, my GPA will be about 3.3, with a prospective class rank of 8% or better. And when this GPA is weighted by Florida standards, it's going to be in the range of 3.8-4.0</p>

<p>Other Advantages
Might be able to get good recommendations from high ranking people
Immigrant from Eastern Europe
Florida resident
Low income
First generation to attend college
Possible exceptional essays
Playing piano for 12 years (not sure if this matters at all/I am not planning to study music)</p>

<p>Disadvantages
Low SAT score, but I will send my ACT instead
1 on AP US History Exam (during my sophomore year, before I cared about academics which I will try to explain my situation)
No participation in sports
Not a US Citizen</p>

<p>So does anyone think I have a shot at UF?
I'm also planning to apply to:
Boston University
New York University
Florida State University
UCF, USF</p>

<p>Please post a speculation, what other colleges would I be fit for?</p>

<p>My initial post may be misleading for skimmers so I’ll just summarize my GPA below
UW: 3.3
Weighted by Florida Standards: 4.0</p>

<p>I’m also applying to University of Florida</p>
