My husband and son are going to Reg/Orient on Tuesday June 12 (placement tests the day before). Can anyone tell us what to expect?
And will it finish at 5 pm? They have an 8 pm flight from Charlotte to make and will have to leave Columbia around 4.
Thanks.

My daughter is doing reg/orientation on June 12 also. Have you received any confirmation in the mail or a schedule, parking info, etc.?

you dont get confirmation in the mail, they gave it to you online when you registeres for the session. Schedule is on there and they'll give you something when you check in.Parking is right there at the Coliseum, across the street from the Koger Center where you start out.
S and H made it back to Charlotte in time for their flight.Try to do touring or whatever extra stuff on the day before when you're there for the placement tests. Its a very well organized day.Don't expect to see your child until lunchtime(they provide it).You wont be with them when they are advised or register.

Son's friend (now a soph. at USC) thought he remembered finding out his dorm room assignment and his roommate's name/contact info during orientation. Do you know about that?

S doesnt remember exactly when it popped up but once you are on VIP (the internal messaging/all knowing USC system) the info will appear there. I think he knew the dorm first, then the roomate info.He doesnt remember coming home from Orientation knowing the info.

I asked D and she said that she found out what dorm and room she would be in at orientation but not who her roommate was. This is what cathymee's S also remembers so I would bet that it is the case.

D had requested a roommate (PAmom's D) and she was worried that they hadn't honored the request. She said that all roommate information was however on VIP under the student housing section.
