Been browsing the USC website and VIP and wanted to give you all a heads up. Orientation signups are now available. Son just signed up for Orientation via online VIP. Each major has certain dates to choose from. We chose an early date...better scheduling options I've heard. Housing is available in Capstone, but we decided on a hotel. (Two hotels we like were already filled. Must be something else is going on that week.) Have a good weekend!</p>

if you pick a date thats around the mothers day weekend,thats graduation and hotels nearby will be filled or have jacked up prices.</p>

<p>Thanks for the info. I registered my son the second week that was available. He graduates the 9th of June. Did you get an email confirmation? I have not received one yet.</p>
<p>Haven't gotten an email yet, but I feel sure the sign-up went through. It told me to print a confirmation page that shows a confirmation number,names, dates, parent information, credit card charge and receipt number, etc. And then it linked to a whole page of additional information about the schedule, parking, an ice cream reception, etc. (Yum!) I'll call next week and double check. Maybe they got it set it sooner than expected.</p>
<p>The website says that orientation sign-ups are not available until March 15. Did I miss something? I intended to follow the advice of going to an early orientation date (thanks for the advice, everyone!), but early or even mid-June may prove difficult, as DS has classes and exams into mid-June. There is a window between the end of exams and graduation (June 22!), but DH and DS are going to Omaha for the College World Series (a much-anticipated trip for both...). Wow. This will be a bit of a challenge.</p>

<p>I do see info that says if you make your reservation through VIP to print out the confirmation page as this is the only confirmation you will be getting..it doesnt mention a follow up e mail.</p>
<p>Mom4Life, orientation sign-ups are indeed open, despite the March 15 date on the SC website. We also have school until June 22, but will miss a few days to go down.</p>
<p>Well, now, Y'all need to come on down South. Most graduations are scheduled around June 1st. It just gets too hot and humid down here to think in the summer! LOL!</p>
<p>it can't be any hotter there than here in Va! And we don't have graduation until Juun17.</p>
<p>The vacation lobby is strong so we don't start school until the day after Labor Day. I actually think that makes more sense, August is much hotter than June around here</p>
