Once I transfer I'm planning on double-majoring in Anthropology and American Studies and I was wondering if anyone has any insight into how that works in the UC system for transfer students, beyond the rather unenlightening paragraph that Davis has posted on their website. Is it the same procedure to declare a double major for incoming transfer students as it is for freshman admits (I.E. you must wait until you've completed a full quarter and then petition the dean of your particular college)?

hey ! I was wondering the same exact thing, as I also plan to double major. So, I called UC Irvine, just to ask. They said that you would fulfill the course requirements for one major. And after you transfer, you would THEN declare your second major, after you’re enrolled in the school.
I hope this helps a little (:

I’m also planning on double majoring. I’m not sure what I will be double majoring in though. I’m thinking about Computer Science and Comparative Literature, Computer Science and English, Computer Science and Chemistry or Computer Science and Math.

depending on the school I’d like to double major in american studies OR media studies (comm) + sociology.

For Davis, you’d declare the 2nd major after your first quarter there.

At Davis you would declare your double major after your first quarter and after having completed two upper-division classes in the second major.
