Looking for any experience with attending a 2-yr residential college, then transferring to a 4-yr. Anyone out there? I'm specifically looking for experience with a residential jr college.
Thanks in advance.

Try looking in the UCSB or community colleges forum for info about Santa Barbara City College. It’s residential with a track for transfer to UCSB.

One of my friends at Smith went to Cottey College (in Missouri? I think?) for two years and then transferred to Smith. It’s a two year residential women’s college, so it was an easy transition then to a four-year women’s college. She seemed academically very able to keep up, she even did an honors thesis and she was involved in a lot of extra curriculars at Smith. Drawback though was that she was not able to study abroad, because of rules regarding transfer of credits and needing to take a certain number of credits in residence at Smith.

To clarify, SBCC is not strictly a residential college. They have an agreement to house some students in UCSB dorms in Isla Vista. There are lots of commuter students at SBCC.
