Any get accepted today - November 2, 2009?

What is the OOS waiver? I’m new to the Clemson application process. Son sent his stuff in in November. An info on the admission process would be welcome.

if you have at least a 1350 on the SAT Math+Critical Reading and are ranked in the top 10% of your class, you can get an out-of-state tuition waiver (only have to pay in-state tuition). If you are eligible for the honors college (and have sent in an honors college application before december), you should receive a decision and any academic scholarships before February 15th. If you are not eligible for the honors college, you will hear of your decision via mail at or around February 15th,

If you submitted your application after December 1st, you will hear of your decision after February 15th.

Thanks. DS meets the SAT mar but not the class rank one-- he goes to a very tough all-honors school. So I guess we’re in this until February!

My son, from NJ, recieved the OOS scholarship. He had a 1410 on SAT’s and a 4.07/4.0 GPA.

I received the OOS scholarship in December! Just found out about this site…

I’m waiting on UNC Chapel Hill’s decision, but the offer from Clemson is hard to pass up.

Barely made the cut with a 31 ACT and 1360 SAT, top 3% of class though

I was accepted in December with the OOS scholarship.

I’m from Southern California.
SAT I - 770 Math, 720 Reading, 740 Writing
SAT II - 730 History, 690 Math II

For all of you who are wondering about the additional scholarships, my sister applied to Clemson two years ago and I think she received 4 or 5 scholarships from them throughout the months. She even received a $3k “athletic” scholarship, which she laughed at because she only danced (and while she enjoyed it and was fairly good, she wasn’t a competitive dancer or anything, nor did she even dance at school all four years). It would have cost her $4k total a year to attend.

In other words, just wait to hear about the additional scholarships, because they WILL come, albeit very sporadically.

a little late, but i got accepted in november too with the OOS scholarship. I’m waiting to hear back from Univ of Florida. I go to a really competitve school and i am a few out of the top 10% but I have the rest of the requirements. I recieved my decision and the scholarship, so it may not be fully based on that criteria.

Someone in admissions told me that last year, due to the economy, they were unable to add to OOS waivers by way of scholarships. Hopefully, this year it won’t be like that.

I was accepted a few days ago with the OOS Scholarship, and I go to a terrible high school - so they’re definitely still giving it out.

eastikop -

Where are you from and what were your stats? Sounds like they’re almost doing rolling notification vs letting everyone hear February 15th… Would be great to hear before then! Congrats!

nj_mom, if you qualify for an OOS scholarship and are selected to receive one (most people have a SAT score of at least 1350 or ACT of 31 and are in the top 10% of their high school class), you will receive your notification before February 15th. If Clemson does not decide to give you an academic recruiting scholarship, you will hear on or near February 15th.

I’m actually from NJ, ha. I applied literally the day of (procrastination, LOL) the priority deadline (December 1st, I believe), and received my acceptance ~5 weeks later. Stats are: 1400 SAT, top 6% or 7% of the class, and I let them know about my terrible high school, so I’d say you’ve got a good chance.
