Any "Guaranteed UC Admissions" Programs?

My friend is wanting to go to a UC but did not apply for any in time. He is interested in going to a community college or preferrably a CSU and then transferring to a UC. Are there any "guaranteed admissions to a UC" program he can investigate or where I can point him in the right direction? Thanks.

yea there are a bunch of them. Personally I did the PAIF (UCI) TAA (UCD) and GATE (UCSC).

He can reapply as a freshman next year if he has the grades to go straight from HS.

Citan, where can I get info on all those programs?

UCSD's TAG sounds good... these programs are for ccc students, usually not to for impacted majors....

If he/she is a decent studnet, he can get into most UC w/ a 3.2, excluding CAL, most likely.

locknload: visit the counseling office or transfer center of your respective CC, or you can check the websites of the different schools.

Thanks. I found this: <a href="http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/transfer/tr_info_ccc/tr_adm_prgms.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/transfer/tr_info_ccc/tr_adm_prgms.html</a> in anyone else is interested.

If you want something decently easy, you can go for UCSD's TAG; that's what I did, and I got accepted.

It's pretty much the same as the IGETC, except your GPA doesn't have to be that high, minimum is 2.8.

Also, depending on which UCSD college you apply to, you don't need to take any more general ed classes.

is there only one IGETC? or do different UCs have different IGETC requirements..

is the IGETC for letters and science at Berkeley, Davis, and LA all the same?

the igetc's are generally all the same. However, there have been conflicts about the language requirements on the igetc.

thank you (10 char)

check with your cc. not all of the ccc has tag with UCSD..but most major CCCs do

Does anyone know if it matters for IGETC foreign language if my high school Spanish grades declined from freshman B's & C's to a D in senior year?

As long as I completed three years with a C or better I should be good right?
