Site says 'late summer.' Does this mean early august? I really want to get all my apps done before fball.

end of july

Thanks, I didn't see that. I believe on your MYMIT account, it says end of the summer. Essays are the only difficult part of applications anyways.

yeah the part where you just fill out your stats and stuff is kinda fun :P

ahh, it's only fun when you have GOOD stats...
I LOVE filling out my SAT 2 and APs more than anything else XP
i hate filling out my SAT 1 scores though... not gonna fill it out till i get my october retake score XP

I can't wait to see the actual app

but i have previous year's questions if anyone wants them

it's true.

it was great to fill out my SAT 2s, AMC, APs...etc
but i left the SAT blank until i got my Oct score out b/c i didn't want to put a suckky score on it hahaha.

filling out Ecs are hard too i had so much trouble finding the best format for me to organize it

i am waiting for MIT app
but the common app ones have WAY to lil space for the EC descriptions
like after i put my officer positions, there was like nothing left so i had to leave the 10th grade one out

i finally got all my AMC score back from the amc department place (since 8th grade)
i saw a really really sad decreasing trend from 9th grade.... T.T 128.5/109.5 /4 (AMC 10A/B/AIME)
now is like 94.5/117/3 (12a/b/AIME) sooo sad T_T
and NO USAMO....only AIME (grr... bf got 5x USAMO and gets mad at me when i call him smart)

....hm i forgot my amc score. anyone know where i could find that? I just remember what i got on AIME lol

E-email the people at AMC and ask them for your score. http://www.unl.edu/amc/

@ rainynightstarz
yea, I feel ya. I was almost in that situation. I guess 5x USAMO is not too hard when you make it once. I don't know if you've heard of David Benjamin who qualified in 7th grade and will probably get 6x USAMO. Btw, he got 150 on AMC 12 and 15 on AIME last year in 9th grade.

to get ALL your AMC and AIME scores
email them at @ INFO@amc.unl.edu
provide your name
where you took it ( CEEB code and/or school name + address , CEEB prefered)
and the years you have taken it

(the more info you provide to them, the faster they'll email back, but give them at least 2 week, when i emailed them ,they were busy with MOsP, probably busy with IMO now or something >.<)

thats pretty crazy, this year a 4th grader from Canada made it >.< I can barely do prealgebra in 4th grade!!!
there aren't that many 5x USAMO quals >.<
Sigh....all i'll get ins 5x AIME quals..... well, only about 100 of them in the US for my graduation class. it still takes some work to continuously make USAMO every year
but my school has about 1 USAMO 5x per year >.<
but i think the smart generation of my school are all slowing going off to college, and the feeder middle school is no longer #1 for mathcounts in the states

anyone know what MIT essays are like, and how many they require? Is there a "WHY MIT?" essay?

short answer on what u want to do when u age, and 500 word personal statement

uh...so basically like the common app writings except a different short answer. Sounds good.

No real short answer "Why" question on the app, though "Why MIT?" or "What attracted you to MIT?" is a common interview question.

in last couple years MIT has 2 shorts 1 long, and 2 optional long
one of the short is what you do for fun
another short is like what major appeals to you right now
for the main long, you have two choices, one is like name a event that felt like the end of the world, but if it didn't happen, you don't be who you are today
the other one is how has the world around you (family, school, club, community) shaped your dreams and aspirations (UCs stole this one this year!!!!!)

1 optional one : write about something you have created

2: anything else that you feel haven't been covered by the application

can someone please post a new thread when they see the app out?
so everyone else can check it out too

will do

hopefully it'll be out soon. I'm anxious to start. None of my early schools use the common app =/

Iits Out!!!

Woot!!!
