Any Internationals asking for FinAid who got in?

Please, if ANY international student who asked for FinAid got into UofC & Duke, please do me the favor of posting your stats, since I am a Junior depressed about the fact that admission for int'ls w/ FinAid is MUCH harder.
Thank you!

PS: Please post your SAT/ACT scores, geographic residence, GPA, AP/IB classes and scores. Thank you again

PPS: I posted this same thread on the UofC & Duke Forum

where are you, in china or in usa?

neither. Latin America (won't tell where though)

lol cause someone is going to come to your country and look for you ? What is U of C ? University of California ?

University of chicago (sry, I'd just copy pasted this from the Chicago forum where UofC naturally = UChicago)

Well, I got waitlisted from U of C and I applied for FinAid so I don't know if you're interested. Here's a short version of my stats anyway:
SAT: I- 2250, II- 800, 800, 790, 750
GPA: 3.96 UW
I took 9 AP classes, and 11 AP tests, including this year. I got 5's on all my AP tests so far except for one.
I actually go to high school in the US (California) but I'm an international student.

Good luck! I'm still disappointed by U of C's decision but yeah, it definitely is a lot harder because of the FinAid.

danielcarp: cerca, pero no exactamente. Which LatAm country is irrelevant

Duke only accept 25 international students who applied f-aid

I knew one boy who got in Duke in 2000 full ride. he did not even took SAT. but he won big award in physics.

you can know what kind students Duke look for now

A Nepalese friend, who applied from a United World College, got into Duke. Possibly he'll get a full ride.

I think he got 2060 in SAT.

hi,suixzh

2000... that is a too old fact..

I did not took SAT too. I have several amazing awards in Engineering (International Level).

And more important thing is I got a rejection...

To a certain extent, maybe the economy of the U.S is too bad, recently...There for, They can't make offers for international applicants.

Rejected from Northwestern University; I asked for full ride.

My stats: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/395102-international-student-needing-aid-chances-yale-scea.html

I don't know about Duke, but U of C certainly shouldn't be the first choice for internationals with fin need. Let's just face it - they have very limited money for internationals. I also asked for a full ride and got a rejection and now I blame myself for wasting my time on it while I could pay more attention to smaller schools that seek diversity, are not so super-competitive and give more aid. Well, I'm still waiting for some decisions, so we'll see what I have..

felicidades argg! Vos vas a Lincoln school/Belgrano Day school?

Anyways guys, I got some replies from the Duke thread and responses aren't too encouraging...

what does this mean - u asked for aid or not

please post in english

sin pedir ayuda is without asking for aid

Grrrrrrr.... this whole deal about shunning poor int'ls as second-class-humans at top unis like UChicago and Duke(with more money than oxford or cambridge PUT TOGETHER) just ticks me off...
