Any interview offers for Biomedical/Bioengineering?

To Fenguin, do you mind sharing your concentration in bioengineering? dont worry about it if you dont feel comfortable

I got accepted by BU and WashU too.

I'm concentrating in Biomedical Imaging, what about you? The imaging community is relatively small and so I can't wait to meet some of the others in the field during my interviews. Are you going to the BU admit weekend?

I am concentrating more on computational/systems bioengineering. I sent BU an email asking if I could visit early cuz i ll be in a conference in boston soon.

and i do wonder what the chances of getting in are for hopkins if you get an interview lol

Hi Guys,
I would like to post about Clinical SAS Training. I have done my masters in Medical Biotech and moved to SAS Clinical.
I have been in this field from past 6 years.

If anybody is interested in CLINICAL SAS TRAINING, you can contact me at sas.pioneer@gmail.com.

Thank you.

For Hopkins, I found these rather interesting statistics:
Hopkins BME PhD Council: Administrative Info

Total: 34
Applied: 405; Accepted: 78
International: 19
Neuroengineering: 9

If they still accept ~78/year (this was two years ago) then considering they only have two interview weekends and have us choose six faculty, I think we have a pretty good shot.

fenguin: Wow, they ACCEPT that many??? That's awesome! I feel a little better now about my chances. I can't believe half of the accepted people go somewhere else. Btw, did you see my PM?

An RPI prof just sent an interview request to me last week. I haven't heard from anyone else aside from acceptances to BU and UC Davis, but rejected from Hopkins. Heh, I guess summa cum laude isn't enough...

Hi,

did anyone hear about the PhD in Computational and Systems Biology (CSBi) at MIT ?

They didn't send any application confirmation (I mean, sent by the Secretary of the Department), they didn't reply my mails, they never answer my calls, and I am still waiting for the results.

Do you have some news?

they called me and asked me if i could send unofficial transcript, because they had a problem with it... then i sent it as a pdf via email, but they still claimed to not to have it [even though the file was in attached in their reply!!!]

so I went there and brought a hardcopy in my hand. I think it worked out finally...

That's about it for a communication with CSBi...

This is the point : maybe there is something wrong with their e-mail adress : csbi@mit.edu or csbphd@mit.edu

Please could you give me the number you called, to be sure I have the same in my contact list?

Hey Last_Raven, don't underestimate BU - what they don't tell you is that you don't actually have to pick a BU faculty member to be your PI. I know some grad students there doing some extraordinary research under Harvard Med/HST professors.

I didn't know that about BU. That is awesome!

Also, Fenguin, thanks for the info on JHU! XD

So has anyone gone on their interviews yet? This thread kind of died.

I still don't have any sign of life from CSBi at MIT. I am starting to think they are not respectful at all. At least, they could have sent rejection mails.

bring up this post

Just went on interviews to Caltech (2/19-21), Berkeley/UCSF (2/21-24) and Stanford (2/26-3/1).

Got into Caltech a couple hours ago (WOO!), and apparently Berkeley will be sending out decisions on 3/10. Still waiting on Stanford with fingers crossed...

Yay I got into caltech too.

My friend got into Berkeley/UCSF Bioengineering yesterday (3/3)- he received an email around 2pm Eastern time.

For those who are accepted to UCB/UCSF and/or Caltech BioE, CONGRATS!!!!

Do you mind sharing your stats or others who you know w/ offer from cal/caltech? I also applied to those schools and was rejected (still waiting for the rejection letter from Caltech) - sort of knew that these schools were out of my reach =) but still gave it a try for many reasons haha.

THX!
