I know I should have done this earlier but

Math 33B with Weisbart
Math 32B with Micheli or Math 115A with Vilenchik
Math 61 with Gieseker
GE that I haven't decided yet

I am already enrolled in all these math classes.

I have to take 4 classes since I am low on ECP units, but I am concerned of the difficulty of these classes. I am pursuing math/econ major and I need to finish my prereqs (32B, 33B, and 61 are my last ones) as well as 115a, econ 101, and econ 102 as soon as possible to apply to that major. Is 3 math + GE doable? Math is not my best subject =[ And can anyone recommend me a easy history/social science ge?

Weisbart is awesome, if you know the material he offers the option of 100% final. Gieseker is good enough, not too difficult. You can also look to see if Math 180 is available because it’s not that much more difficult than 61, and it’s upper div units that you’ll need eventually.

3 math + GE is definitely doable, but once again, we don’t know you the individual to know if you can do it. I as an individual would consider it a light load for myself, but that’s only because I know I can handle lots of difficult classes (having taken 3 upper div math and 2 upper div physics last quarter).

i spent two days in weisbart’s 170A last quarter (didn’t get in) and he’s already my favorite UCLA prof.

I dropped 115a since I decided to take 32B, 33B and 3 GEs

How hard is Stats 100a and Math 131A?

Also how much harder is Math 180? And dinoian you sure I can take that instead of Math 61 for Math/Econ?

I’m not 100% sure you can take the 180 for math/econ, but talk to Connie in the department, as she would know. Math 180 was pretty much a review of combinatorics from high school math team, with a bit of graph theory thrown in there. I didn’t study beyond doing about 3/4 of the homework, and got an A.

Oh okay thanks

and also what do you think about taking Math 131A and Math 115a concurrently? Weisbart is teaching 131A next quarter and Liu is teaching 115a. I had Liu and he is pretty easy for a math prof and I have weisbart right now and he seems chill. But I heard these two classes are generally the hardest upper div maths.

Depends what else you’re taking. Both are very proof intensive, so if you have some experience writing proofs you should be fine, but if not it will take you a while to get down the logic and style etc. Neither class really builds on the other except for the fact that 131A assumes that you understand how to do basic proofs and basic proof concepts such as induction and contradiction.
