Any more acceptances for Fall 2015 out there?

Good morning! Well, we toured all 6 of DD’s accepted schools this week and her heart is still set on UD (she is on the waiting list). She will attend St Joseph’s University if she does not get in. She emailed admissions this question-haven’t heard back yet and was wondering if anyone had any thought on it. She is currently listed as a Health and Behavioral Sciences major, but not 100% committed to it. If she changed her intended major to University Studies would that help in getting off the wait list? Can she even still do that? Thanks!

@wa7945 did your D list University studies as a second option major on her original application? I believe they give you a couple of choices to list. It wouldn’t hurt to give the admissions office a call and asking. If she listed it in her original application then consideration has already been given to that option. Good luck and let us know what they say. I would call ASAP as May 1st is rapidly approaching.

I looked up Common Data Set for UDel (http://www.udel.edu/IR/cds/cds1415.pdf) and was very surprised to see on page 6 encouraging data (for wait listers) that seems to defy much which has been written here. According to this report, for Fall 2014, 2,634 students were offered wait list status; 1,196 accepted wait list; 768 were offered spots from the wait list and 162 ultimately enrolled.

While the 2014 data doesn’t mean the same percentages will be in place for 2015, it does give a rather encouraging look at recent history.

I think this is incorrect although it is as you have written. The figures were exactly the same for the Fall 2013 class (which is impossible). No one last year reported on these boards that they were accepted off the wait list. In fact people who were assigned to the waitlist reported that they had received notification from UD that no students were being accepted off the wait list. However even the numbers from 2013 could indicate some hope that students will be taken in from the wait list this year (which was common in years prior to last year).

I still haven’t received my decision. My blue hen home says that my application is still under review.

I paid my deposit today! My Blue Hen Home said that if I wanted to join the World Scholars Program that I would have to put it in writing after I pay the deposit. It specifically said that something would pop up online asking me if I wanted to join the World Scholars Program right after I paid. But that was not the case. Nothing popped up… So I am freaking out wondering if the Program spots had been filled or wondering if I just have to wait. I emailed admissions, but because it is the weekend they are not open. It seems that I will have to wait until Monday to either hear back from them or call them. Is there anything else that I can do?

I got rejected. I thought I would get in Udel. I had a SAT score of 1880 and some nice co-curriculars.I also had a neat essay. Luckily, I got accepted in 7 universities, so a slight setback shouldn’t trip me up. Well, good luck for those who got in.

@Tohoforever Were you waitlisted or they just informed you of their desicion today?

@Tohoforever. Sorry to hear that. Maybe your major filled up and the wait list already full? IDK but your SAT scores are on par. Wow- 7 universities. Great that you have a lot of choices and best of luck in your decision! keep up posted with what you decide!

Well. My credentials only reached by March 20th. So, I think it’s reasonable they would reject me. I got rejected only at NYU,BU and Udel. I thought I would get in Udel. Till now, I have got accepted in penn state, rutgers, Syracuse, SUNY Buffalo,NJIT, rochester institute of technology and drexel. Thanks tennisgirl6.

@sagemae17 They informed of my decision yesterday. I didn’t get any email, but on my bluehen home portal, it reported that I was denied and they couldn’t offer me admission. I wasn’t waitlisted and my major was chemical engineering.

@tennisgirl6 I applied to chemical engineering. Maybe the waitlist would have been filled. Well, I got waitlisted in Upitt, stony brook and brandeis till now. So, I am still waiting for university of maryland. Thats my last one.

Does anyone know if I happen to get accepted off the waitlist if I will get the worst dorms since I paid after May 1st?

No-not because of this reason.
