S got the University scholarship via email, but as of today has not received the big envelope in the mail. Didn't know if there was a chance this late in the game for that invitation. Boy, is Miami wonderful and generous with the merit awards.

Does anyone out there have any interview tips? Has anyone received the Singer Scholarship?

Just be yourself. There are no hidden questions. No pointers.

on the schedule it said we would participate in “model” classes… does anyone know what those entail?

You will be given the option to choose from 4 or 5 classes to go to. The professors will demonstrate what a class would be like by giving a lecture for about an hour so you can get a taste of what classes at Miami would be like.

We got the package for son on Apr 9th. We live overseas so it was too late.

Meanwhile son got the merit award with the admission and now the invitation for Singer. Does it mean that the awards are combined into one if he got selected for Singer or are they 2 distinct awards?

You must attend the Singer interview to be offered the Singer Scholarship (full tuition). If you are not offered the Singer or do not attend the interview, then whatever schoarship amount was offered is what you get.

^^Got an email this morning for a phone interview. Lets say he gets the Singer Scholarship of full tuition (34k?), what happens to the original merit award of 24k? Just trying to understand the process. Thanks.

If you are awarded the Singer Scholarship you will no longer receive the University Scholarship, the Singer Scholarship will replace the original award.
