Has anyone that auditioned at the February 5th audition heard anything yet? At the audition, they said that they hoped to send out decisions in 3-4 weeks, but my D has not heard anything yet.

My D auditioned on the 4th of Feb and we have not heard anything yet.

My D was not accepted for MT, but was accepted for BA in Music and possibly BFA - Acting, she is still waiting to hear from the Theatre Department.

With the BA Music acceptance from the Music School, she was given a scholarship (in addition to her academic scholarship) and she may receive a scholarship from the Theatre Department also. So the aggregate scholarship amount is looking good.

She would be allowed to double major – although it may take 5 years or 4 years plus summer classes to double major with BA Music and BFA Acting. With BFA Acting, she would cross train with dance classes taught by the School of Dance and private voice lessons thru School of Music. If she only does the BA-Music, she would not be allowed to take dance classes. She could re-audition for MT in November next year if she wants to.

She is still interested in OCU – waiting to see what is offered with the BFA - Acting.

Alot of different pieces of the puzzle to consider and makes it difficult to compare to other schools.

Thanks for the information. Natalieblueeyes, are you saying that the School of Music and the Theater Department send out separate letters? I am so confused with this whole process. I am glad my daughter is an attorney!

you will get separate letters and separate scholarship offers for BA music and BFA acting; if you accept-- you’d sign two separate offer sheets and mail them each back – one to each dept. when you are ready to do so.

Just to clarify, if you are accepted into the BM MT program, there should only be one letter from the Bass School of Music.

Thank you everyone for responding. I appreciate the clarification.

It is somewhat confusing but the information letter that they send out with the acceptances is fairly clear and answers alot of questions.
With the scholarship, you are required to respond back by a certain date in March – although they do respect the May 1st date for decisions on what school the student is going to attend. Information letter explains all of that and also expands about what classes you are allowed to take with each major and reauditioning for MT if you want to.

Any news from March auditions? Does the April 1 notification date not apply here since the audition was so late in the month? Thanks.

It looks like the School of Music is still accepting video auditions through May 1. How can we wait if other schools need to know by May 1? It’s not quite the same situation as being on a waitlist.

Good news mail arrived today for MT! D did the last weekend of March audition.

Congrats to your D, classicalbk! Feel free to PM or email me if you or your D has any questions!

Congrats to your daughter, classicalbk! She has many fine options! Enjoy this moment!
