Yes I was on the high priority waitlist.

i'm on the highest priority too..and no news :(

So, if the students who got off the WL accept their spot in UMich, is it true that they're not guaranteed housing?

so i've heard
.........

I don't care about housing, I just wanna get accepted damn it. :(

i'm with you there, who needs to sleep or shower anyways :[

all freshman are gaurenteed(sp?) housing.

^ not off the waitlist.

***? so where do they expect them to live?

Just because you're not GUARANTEED housing doesn't mean you're doomed to live off-campus. Believe me, if Housing can get you into the residence halls, they will. Housing isn't funded by tuition or the other parts of the University--it is entirely self-funding. It wants every room filled.

I think the "not guaranteed" thing is a safety valve for Housing in case something goes nuts and we end up with a class that's way over. However, Housing was counting on the U meeting its target and had rooms reserved for a full class. Why is the U is going to the waitlist? To get a full class--not to exceed it. It should all work out.

In contrast Beejay, when I spoke to someone in the admissions office, his name was ryan, he told me: "students admitted off the waitlist are at a disadvantage for applying to hosuing because they won't be able to choose which residence hall they want to live in. They'll be assigned what's available. it doesn't matter when your admitted, all freshman are guaranteed housing. Whether it's a residence hall or temporary housing."

When I called in April right after being put on the waitlist I called admissions and asked about all that because they said they would reply by the end of June so i got worried. I was told that ALL freshman are guaranteed housing. Beyond that, I'm not sure...

i got off waitlist!!

hahaha i got off the waitlist no way i dont even know if i wanna go

Uh i got off the waitlist for engineering btw, and i was contacted by email. I have no idea what high priority waitlist means either.

I think engineering underaccepted, they're taking people off the waitlist for engineering, nowhere else.

Not true. It's not just applicants to Engineering.

Kevinscool,
Congrats! Can you (and others who have got off the waitlist) post your stats and also let us know if you were on high priority or regular waitlist?
Thanks

uh how do we know if we were on high priority or regular wait list? Uh anyways I had like a 3.6 UW 3.7 W ish im not quite sure. I had a 31 act with 33M, 31W, 30R and 29R and 10 essay. I applied on feb. 1 if that makes a difference at all. Mostly all honors and AP classes and a recommendation from my science teachers and my GC. Uh i think that's about it unless theres something im clearly missing.

haven't you received a regular mail noticing you're in waitlist??
in the letter, you'll find that you were in highly priority waitlist.

Has anyone from other colleges in Michigan been admitted from the waitlists besides engineering.?
