welll... ofcourse you can join this thread...its a free world africafilm!

Strangely, Y2Kplaya, thats exactly what I want to do after getting a master? doctors?? Maybe we could form some kind of african youth association to unite educated young africans from all over the world for humanitarian purposes in Africa.....(just a thought.. but a good one at that)

Anyways to my Igbo brother thugacation, and all other nigerians, goodluck in the admission process!

Thats a great idea. One of the things I want to do when I finish film school is to make educational videos like on aids and other issues that are plaguing africans due to illiteracy, and not the usual ones but something that'll catch peoples attention and not have them changing the channel or anything before you can sneek the message across :)

good idea africafilm. Africa needs change and it depends on us youths to make that change (I know I sound like a naive idealists. lol),

BTW, what college did u apply to africafilm?

Please be as naive as you want, sadly it's one of those things we loose as we 'grow up', and I fear I'm heading down that slippery slope :). I haven't applied yet coz I want to go in next year fall, but I have started on the essays and stuff. I plan on applying to Chapman, USC...maybe UCLA, they seem to take Kenyans for film at UCLA. I'm still deliberating on a few others. You?

quote[]
[/quote]
Not really, you sound like naive, marxist idealist:)

lol......

Well africafilm, I applied for this years fall.... I went on an "over ambitious" journey to apply to Princeton, Columbia Yale Rice(accepted!!yay)....then a safer choice of Rensselaer(accepted), trinity Univ(accepted!), Univ of Maryland, college park. NYU(safer??),

What are you going to study? Rice is good yeah? Where are you planning to enroll? Did you apply for financial aid of some sort or is that not an issue with you? Sorry about the 21 questions :)

no problem...I love being interrogated. :D (hope you catch the sarcasm)

I dont really know what I want to study yet. but its along the line of Comp sci/Robotics and A.I/pre-dentistry (yes i know, I am confused)

Yeah Rice is good (I am assuming thats a question lol)

I dont know yet....still waiting for the "biggest three" on my list.

I applied for fin aid in Princeton, Yale and Columbia....because those were the only ones i could. Yes, money is a big issue here. but I am stupidly relying on merit scholarships...lol. Atleast av gotten some $$ from one of the schools I got accepted to. So I am proud to say that I have a TRUE safety..lol

wow that is one 'diverse' list of intended majors. I actually have the problem of not having any other majors in mind, so if I don't get into a film school...I'll be quite stuck. What are you're stats?

if by STATS u mean SAT scores, They're not good..lol I have posted it on another nigerian thread. I'm not sure i want to post it here again. I'll PM you.

Well, atleast you have a set goal that you want to achieve. For me, its like i have planned different outcomes according to which major i pursue.

so to all nigerians and africans, have you guys gotten any decision from any school?

Good luck to you guys with getting in college.

BTW, I grew up for short while in Lagos.

oh nice..... how long did u live in lagos?

A couple of years. I thought Africa was really cool.

nice. did you apply for this year's fall admissions?

Haha, no. I've already graduated from college.

oh wow! sorry.... thats awesome.. I want to be done with college. :( haha!

Yea, we should form some form of african youth-future professional group. I think I may do pharmacy at Rutgers.

hello i just found this thread i wasn't born in Nigeria (Britain for me) but my parents lived there for over 20 years and I've heard so much about it. I see alot of people here looking at some very competitive colleges and it pleases me so much to see us moving forward, i myself am looking at Brown, Emory, Boston, and Northwestern i really want to pursue medicine in the future. that's all, just wanted to introduce myself. good luck to all with their college endeavors!

hello fellow Nigerians/Africans
its nice to see this tread is still somewhat alive
congratulations to the class of 2011---i wish u all the best
Is there any one coming to Columbia? We certainly could use more African/Nigerians?

How is the situation with the Nigerian elections? I certainly hope there isnt too much chaos---well since the application process is pretty much over this thread will continually diminish in popularity----i hope it stays alive for class of 2012 and to vent some of their tension

wassup sefago, jrock, osaetin, switch, etc
i hope ur freshman year was as pleasant as mine---can u imagine it has been a year already

well have a good one all
