Any Nigerian's in the house

Whats up Afrikaan? My freshman year sucked big time but it is nearly over. Too much work. I sent you a message on facebook but you probably did not get It. Although, I use facebook like once a month. Anyway what are you doing over the summer? I am staying herre since I got a job in my school. At least I would have the opportunity to do actually enjoy myself without considering my school work. Aaaaaaah I still have a long way before school is over. Are you going to stay in New york over the summer? I am visiting a friend in New York so I could facebook you. I would start using facebook immediately I finish finals and I am sure my GPA is not going to be as crappy as it seems right now? What about everyone?

I am going to Tufts, anyone else?

"A couple of years. I thought Africa was really cool.

Wow, I thought Lagos was horrible. Certain parts were nice, but it was overall one of the worst major cities I ever been to. Abuja is so much nicer, I could put it against any European city, but Lagos's raw sewage was absolutely disgusting.

Hey everyone!! a Kenyan here! just passing thru n showing support..

Hey everyone. Long time no see. I just wanted to welcome the class of 2011 to this thread. Just wondering if anyone is coming to Amherst.

Sefago, I completely agree with you when you say that there is too much work in college. It is literally back-breaking (my back started hurting after I completed my 10 page paper yesterday). Arghh. I can't wait to be done. How did freshman year treat everyone. For me it was awesome.

Y2kplaya92, thank you for recognizing the awesomeness of Abuja. I always knew that we were better than those Lagosians (jk). Glad to hear that you are going to Tufts. It is a great place. I'm sure that you will enjoy your freshman year.

Congrats to everyone else. Enjoy your summers. I know I will.

I wanted to resurrect this amazing thread for Nigerians of the class of 2012. Though I cannot contribute to previous discussions on the political and economic predicaments of Nigeria because I immigrated to the US at the age of six and am pretty ignorant about Nigerian politics, it was intriguing to read the various discussions. I think it is important for Nigerians to ban together; I am living in Columbus, Georgia, a small town of southern Georgia with roughly 20 Nigerians, so I wanted to reach out to my fellow Nigerians at home and those in the US. Where do ya'll plan on applying? me?
University of Chicago
Yale University
Princeton University
Boston College
Villanova University
Emory University
American University
University of Georgia

Hey switch, are you going to be at Amherst tomorrow? I'm coming down...

Jrock, I left a while a go. I'm in Nigeria now. I saw that you met a couple of my friends from the ACF. I hope that you enjoyed the visit. (And to insert a bit of the Amherst-Williams rivalry), I hope that you noticed how much better the vibrant little town of Amherst is than sleepy Williamstown.

I couldnt agree more

The work load freshman year was ridiculous---but to compound my problems, I took like third year and fourth year level math and physics classes

well lets just say it hasnt been my wisest decision til date

well all that is in the past--even the work load---I absolutely loved the experience. I hope and perhaps I am sure it was the same for most of you

Its a thing of joy to know that this thread will stay alive for a while

I certainly hope that our generation has more ppl like the ones on this thread who have a passion to change the country

Did i hear somone hating on Lagos? As u rightly said---Lagos has some good parts---but the ever deteriorating state of Lagos saddens me (since i grew up there)
I went to school in Abuja so I can attest to the fact that it is a really nice city. Nigeria's london some ppl say

Well have a good summer and good lk koolmaria139 and class of 2012

damn i feel old

bump bump bump

I'm East African (Ugandan) too but we cant just barge in on the Nigerian thread.

wow, wish I had seen this thread a long time ago. Hi, I'm Nigerian, and I've been pretty humbled by the kind of scores and schools you guys have been loosely throwing around. If Osaetin is still here, would you mind telling me if you have a sister named Yuwa?

Sorry Scardycat…I’ve got a sister but her name’s not Yuwa. Definitely one of your old friends. How long ago did you come across this Osaetin and Yuwa??

Osaetin - wassup man! Dude, what’re you up these days?!

JRock…how’re things?? Sorry I’ve been outta touch for a long while now. Been really busy with my senior design project. The semester has been hectic, esp with the fact that I’ve got night classes everyday. How’s school??

school’s not too bad - just finished spring break. of course, still got a year left, as you know.

my hearty congratulations to all you folks in the class of 2013. great job.
