They say its a good school, but they want me in another school. I prefer the one I am enrolling at now, but they are upset.

I will be in the fall.

If they really, truly didn’t want you there, and they are paying, they could have refused to write the deposit check.

If you do well, and are happy, they will probably come around in time.

Wishing you (and your parents) all the best.

Theyre letting me go. They just arent happy IM going there

My dad wants me to go to Glasgow University. My mother hates the US and adores UK, but she wants me to go to Mount Holyoke. The battle is lost in any case.

My parents are OU grads. I hate the Sooners, however. I’m going to OSU in the fall. We’ll have us a little family feud…

I went to a college my parents didn’t want me to go to. My mother wanted me to go to Emory - but we couldn’t afford it - or Agnes Scott. My father wanted me to go to Georgia Tech and be an engineer (lol). I ended up going to Spelman, a small liberal arts college in Atlanta.

I loved it and they warmed up to it very quickly, and ended up really liking the fact that I went there. Both of them say that they think the school’s qualities were what helped me develop into who I am today, which they like.

My dad also wasn’t happy about me getting my Ph.D at Columbia - he thought I should’ve gotten a job instead of going to school for another 5-6 years. But again, he’s warmed up to the idea and now he brags to his friends.

Parents get over stuff.

Actually, the opposite. My parents will only let me go to the school they want me to go to. I hate it, so I’ll probably end up quitting school altogether.
