I understand that they're paying for my college and whatnot, and I should not be complaining, however...

I always wanted to go to a liberal arts college, and I got really, really good financial aid from Colgate, but then I, unfortunately, got into Brown with slightly better aid, so my parents, because Brown is more prestigious, are making me go there. I'll probably enjoy it, but I still feel as though I'm missing out on an experience I could really appreciate

wow haha. I guess my condition is fortunate compared to yours, but I still feel like I should have freedom to make my college decision, which is basically the first decision a person makes

Also, I think that a US degree would be worth more in the long run

Yeah, well. Unless I have some totally distant relative who croaks and leaves me with a pile of gold, going to college here is going to be a female dog financially.

You’re a lucky duck. Embrace your parents’ sanity. :)

I don’t think my parents will. They have good reason to try to force me into going to one of my top two schools, since I got way better financial aid from one. Eg: the schools are a 20 minute walk apart (no location complaints) and are ranked approximately the same. But they’re not very into that.
