Hey Everyone....
I was wondering if you could help me out a bit. I have an interest in history and law, and would like to convey that through extracurricular activites, but I dont know how. I attend a very small private school that has a limited number of extracurricular clubs and groups. Just like everyone else I want to stand out by my interests to the ivy league admission officers. I appreciate any help that you can provide. Thank You!

look outside of school. I have an opinion on everthing, just not a strong one in this case

I agree, find EC's outside of school. I was a piano composer, was involved in the knights of columbus, and was a dancer, none of which were offered by my school. It was these that stood out in the minds of the admissions officers. (I got into 6 out 8 ivies...) I also got involved in Congressional legislation - something you can do at your local congressman's or senator's office, if you don't live around DC. Or if you are in the NY area, check out the UN....or get involved in Model UN stuff. Just some ideas.

Thank you for your ideas, i'll look into some of that

model UN is a great idea, tons of fun and a great way to meet kids with similar interests outside of school. i did it for a year and wish i hadn't quit.

volunteering at congressman and senators offices can be rewarding, but from what i have heard is hard to gain entrance too.

since you go to a private school talk to some of your friends parents who are lawyers and see what they recommend.
